Cache maintenance is on my radar every spring. That said, I too have been getting logs on my caches from those outside of my community and one from Minnesota so far. Â âSafer at Homeâ means just this. Â Keep local within a short radius whereas you donât need to stop for fuel, lunch, etc. Â I personally love State Parks and live within 15 minutes of one and live within DNR areas. Â The parking lots were packed with cars. Â How is this following the Social Distancing order? Â Essential outdoor activity/exercise is allowed, provided Social Distancing is adhered to. Â It doesnât mean travel a far distance for this activity/exercise. Â The Safer at Home was more or less Stay Closer to Home. Â The Wisconsin Governor made some hard choices and itâs quite possible more yet to come.
I to was awarded one in NW Wisconsin. Â Havenât decided what to do with it. Â I believe mine was awarded in February.
Nice list. Â Thanks for posting it.
Iâll probably hit up the Choice Hotel branded one in Plover. Â Walking distance to almost anything including a brewery and distillery.
Which hotels are recommended? Â I noticed better ones 5 miles south of the meeting.
Depending upon the D/T though, several DNFâs donât mean a whole lot these days. Â Especially for those cachers that are newer to the game. Â Just my 2 cents.
I feel like a cacher in the LCG đđ
Because of where I am coming from, I made a decision to spend the prior night (Friday) in Stevenâs Point. Â Never been there, so will take up some caching there on Friday, and check out various places. Â Anyone else doing the same?
Going to be interesting and a learning curve for a bit. Â Gonna need a bigger screen for the schooling. LOL
Found it! đ€Ł
wow, 20 years. Â That is extra special. Â Definitely a coin for 20 years, and maybe a Pathtag? Â Definitely a special gathering middle of the state to be neutral for all to attend. Â Will need to get input from membership of ideas all would like to see/happen, although not everything can be implemented, if elected Iâll do my best to listen and try to accommodate as many ideas as we can.
I agree with all said previously to me. Â Itâs an uphill battle with regards to the website. Â So many are engaged with mobile devices and tablets. Â Getting our website more mobile friendly would help tremendously however, itâs a major undertaking. Â If elected into the BOD that will surely be a discussion and lots of research will be required not just by one sole individual, but as a group.
Social media has unfortunately taken over from the website. Â Mainly because of how members are engaged with technology. Â So many use smart phones or tablets instead of a computer these days.
Email announcements using a mail blast is probably the best way to communicate and using those to refer members to the website for information. Â Social media postings from the website is also a good way to communicate with membership.
Besides our four main events yearly, there is opportunity for hosting smaller events, or perhaps having a booth at various county fairs dedicated to showing off the WGA to the public? Â So much to think about, and put into action if elected into the BOD.
I firmly believe if people are aware of the WGA, they will become more active in their membership and perhaps if opportunities arise, to volunteer with things if asked of them. Â Granted everyone leads a busy life, but everyone is connected to the internet and could find some time if they became more engaged in the membership of the WGA. Â Something I am willing to work really hard on is engaging membership and trying to recruit more into our membership.
Iâm pretty sure I can and live by an electronic calendar. Â I use Google Keep as an organizer and task manager. Â Shouldnât be too difficult as long as I am not the solo guy doing this.
Some sort of trail mix. Â Kinda like a mixed bag? đ Â Heck I dunno. Â Interesting question though.
