Mouthy had a typo. Return yards should be 1 point for every 5 yards. 🙄
Found my first rivet in Woodruff last weekend. QM0431
Did you try it without the chip? I had one memory chip that caused numerous problems. Without the chip, it booted up fine. I had to return to the horrible base maps until I bought a new memory chip and downloaded the maps again. Not sure how the chip goes wacky, but I’m glad it was that and not the unit.
When the bad chip was in, it did two different things at startup. It either went on for one second and turned off or it would start up and freeze on the Acquiring Satellite screen. I’ve never seen the horizontal or vertical lines.
$110 doesn’t sound bad, especially if you’ve invested in the maps which are tied to that GPSr. I hope Garmin allows someone that goes the refurbished route to get another unlock code for the maps and refurbished unit. Otherwise, use the opportunity to upgrade.
Make sure the MicroSD card is seated properly in the card tray in the battery compartment. Mine was loose a couple weeks back and the unit would turn on for 1 second and then go dark. Everything was fine once I made sure the chip was slid forward into the lock position.
That’s unbelievable stamina. Congrats. Is my math right? Isn’t that like a cache every 2 minutes for 24 hours straight? I’ve gotta eat and take a potty break somewhere in those 24 hours. Seems exhausting to travel 500ft, find a container (I’m sure this is obvious), open a container, sign/stamp a log, close the container in 2 minutes and repeat that 700 times.
Could Rubber Duck and Pig Pen bring their convoy? First car/truck finds the container, open its it up and takes off for next cache. 2nd vehicle signs the log and takes off. 3rd vehicle closes it up and puts it back. Might be able to topple 700 with that scenario.
I was married to June for 35 years until she passed in 2003. Hang on a minute…darn dissociative identity disorder. I’m back.
Been together 29 years. Been happily married to the non-cacher for 21 of those.
Original question – Ignore
Current puzzle cache – Both Sudoku’s have unique solves. Good to go.
Original Sudoku’s above – Left puzzle has unique solve. Right puzzle has 5 solves. x and y are variables for DD xM.MyM. Based on permissible distance from posted coordinates, x can be assumed from the 2 possible choices. The difference for y has an 80-90 ft difference, so with a beacon, it should be found.
Sorry to deviate from the topic, but labrat’s post reminded me of some incorrect uses I see on cache descriptions and logs. It is not seconds. It is fractional/decimal minutes. 20 seconds is about a 1/4 mile, whereas .020 minutes is 80-90feet. So if a puzzle CO has a correction to the solve telling you to adjust +8 secs north and -7 secs west, do you do simple math or convert the seconds to minutes and then do the math? Is that part of the puzzle? What if there’s no checker? Ahhhhhhhhhhhh
Looking at the 2010 results, I think you’ve got the scoring thing figured out. 😀
And whatever you do, make sure furball gets in the league and is in my division. 😉

God bless all of these hero’s, past and present.
Ron – I can be your backup until you’re back on your feet. I think I’ve done all but some in Harrington Beach. I don’t have any on my watch list, so shoot me an email if something comes up. For Belgium and Harrington Beach, I’m pretty sure I can get KCKennelCrew to give you a hand.
Furry – you just need to get the odds in your favor. Our house is 4-1, with the boys winning. Momma learned mighty quickly to raise the seat. 😆
You wouldn’t happen to have one of these? http://videogames.yahoo.com/events/plugged-in/rare-nintendo-game-is-40-000-windfall/1391148
More redistribution of wealth and probably another Ponzi scheme like Social Security, which by the way, now pays out more than it takes in. I’ll be able to survive this mess in my lifetime, but feel terrible for my kids and future generations. I can’t see how this country can continue to spend money that’s way beyond it’s means.
Washington Times – “The federal public debt, which was $6.3 trillion ($56,000 per household) when Mr. Obama entered office amid an economic crisis, totals $8.2 trillion ($72,000 per household) today, and it’s headed toward $20.3 trillion (more than $170,000 per household) in 2020, according to CBO’s deficit estimates.”
I recall when throwing around the word Billion was scary. Now they talk Trillion as if it’s just a little bit more. http://www.slideshare.net/Ficoba/whats-a-trillion
At least it’s a jobs creation bill. $10 billion to the IRS to create 16,500 jobs. That’s a good thing, right?
This is not what I wanted to see.
Sure we’ve had our differences, but I’ve always appreciated the time, effort and beauty you put into your caches. Thanks for those memories.
I’m sure you’ve given it a lot of thought, but I’d like to see you reconsider. If time away is what you need, then so be it. But like Lostby7 said, I hope to see you reenter.
I’m in Milwaukee as well. I’ve had Time Warner(16yrs), then DirecTv(7yrs), then Time Warner (2yrs) and now AT&T Uverse (2yrs). I’m quite happy where I’m at. If you don’t use a DVR, you should. It’s the only way to watch TV these days. Saves yourself tons of time. And the Uverse DVR is great. One DVR for the entire house. You can watch any recorded program at any Uverse receiver in the house. And you can record up to 4 shows at the same time. Like most, you pay extra for each box you have. I think $7 or $8 per box. So if you have a lot of TV’s in can add up. The one big benefit to Time Warner is that you don’t need a box for every TV. You’ll only get the analog feeds from channel 1-100, but you can hook as many up as you need.
