    GC6DVG0

    GC66T3C

My hide has been there in the Stop sign since April 1, 2012 and found 116 times.

It was achieved today by HQ, then they sent me an e-mail explaining a person living in the nearby house contacted them and said she was freaked out by someone looking in a tree on her property. She said she has not been able to sleep.

I’m fine with the achieving to keep piece with muggles even though it is clearly not on private property. I just hope this doesn’t happen too many more times or a good percentage of caches in the whole USA will be gone as there is a good percentage of them on signs or guard rails.

Hope to see you on the trail,

    Joe

I always have at least one new write in rain log in my wallet and if I’m going to do a trail I bring my cache backpack that has many logs and containers. I feel it is seekers responsibilities to help with maintenance. It is easy. Hardinfam, I will be biking your section of the trail in the next few weeks and will fix them all up. Con grates on the new addition to your fam.

Thanks for the nice words and letting me win March.

The snow sure made a tough go of it. I just got some snowshoes in time for the snow to melt, but I’m ready for next year.

You don’t have to worry about much competition from me until late fall because it’s fishing season now.

So let’s say it gets on LCG list 3/1/13, someone finds it 3/2/13 LCG player or not, can a revisit still be made or is it trumped?

Penninsula State Park in Door County is the biggest and busiest in the state, very tough to get reservations there. It is a good one.

Suprised nobody mentioned High Cliff State Park. Very nice, loaded with caches, great camping area in a mature forest on the top of the limestone cliffs. A must do cache is Old Man | All Strung Out, it will take some time and climbing.

If you want numbers do the Wayside power trail

If you want a challenge do the Harry Potter Series

I really liked the Twinkies hide GC1RKM7 in Manitowoc too

If u ever decide to camp at Penninsula keep it in mind that you have to book way far in advance because it is in very high demand.

The museum in Sturgeon Bay is good, but struggled to find many of the caches in that area.

Camping on Rock Island with caching and Salmon fishing is on my bucket list, I wish I hadn’t been busy for the WGA camp out there last year.

    I’d like to thank RJ.

Last summer I adopted some of his StopSpot caches. Some of the originals have over 100 finds.

This got the ball rolling or gears turning in my head to put more out and make a nice PnG power trail close to Appleton.

You can easily identify the ones I adapted from RJ. They are listed as STOPSPOTS (all caps) and the ones I put out are StopSpots.

I have plans to make this series an even 100 hides with the final #100 being a bit more interesting.

RJ: when are you coming back here to knock the new ones out?

I think most people understand that the most popular girl/boy in school is not necessarily the one you want to bring home to mom and dad.

I don’t want to meet your mom and dad.

Says right in the cache pages, “if you don’t like easy ones don’t stop here”.

Proof is in the pudding that most people like them. They are not designed to be fav point worthy. I would never leave a fav point for a hide like the Stopspot series. It’s not about that. I would like to think that it brings people, even locals, to country roads around the Valley which they have never been down.

Last year there was 66 caches on the card. For every 10 you found you earned a ticket, up to 6 tickets maximum. So you filling your card or getting any more then 60 finds didn’t get you anything more then self satisfaction. I suppose that is what geocaching is about, but I still feel there should be more incentive to fill your card. It doesn’t have to be a new car either, just something. My idea was a different colored souvineer for your profile, or maybe one that says “I filled my card”.

I think there should some incentive at the bash to fill your card. Not a race for the first ones to do it. But some type of incentive. Perhaps a special geo souvineer for your souvineer page, or bonus raffle tickets or something like that.

All I know is that the weather has been really nice, cool enough to still wear pants and not get my legs cut up, not many leaves are on the trees yet and few if any bugs.
