I just found that out… The wording on that page made it sound like you could go either way. I followed the instructions, and typed in the cache code, the page indicated “I have not been asked to adopt this cache” So I’m assuming if the cache owner types his own cache code in, the page will “know” he is the owner, and will take him to another page to transfer ownership to me?
Thank you for the link! Wasn’t sure “adopt” would apply. Looks like either party can start the adoption process.

I got a PN-60 in May and once I got used to it, I’ve grown to really like it. One thing that I don’t like it that it doesn’t show associated waypoints, such as parking coordinates. I work around this by using my phone to look at the cache page for these. I haven’t had any problems with the road routing. You can turn the volume of the beeps down or even off if you want, but I find that they are helpful in alerting me when a turn is coming up.
You should see the parking coordinates under the “waypoints” menu if you uploaded your pocket Q. correctly. If it’s the same as the PN-40

I have some ammo cans in my garage. I may just have to set them out in the woods somewhere. Then maybe we can get you guys away from the guard rails and stop signs and out somewhere where you aren’t breathing all that car exhaust.
Bring it on! Can’t wait 😀

I especially like creative cache containers. Caches that have special cammo or are placed in clever hiding spots are the most fun to do.
+1
I like a variety of cache types, and difficulty, mostly traditional (not overly fond of puzzle caches). I generally prefer quality over quantity, with a creative hide being tops, but sometimes it’s just fun to get a bunch of quick guardrail, sign post “park and grabs” for the #’s. It’s the quest and hunt, with a reward of a “found it” at the end that is most satisfying. I particularly like nice long hikes on trails, parks, woodsy areas of scenic significance.Sure, if you need more. I’m in.

Post the coords and I can plug them into my Topo Program and I can tell you the elevation. At least I think I can?
Thanks, after reading your reply my brain just kicked in…
I forgot to even look at my Topo 9 disc that came with my Delorme PN-40.
Punched in the info and easy peasy, got the elevation. Thanks again for looking. I’ll write it off as me having a senior moment(brain fart) 😳
Thanks for sharing! I’m in progress of planning a new hide with T-1, and this was very enlightening.
I’d like to thank all that made this event possible! Very well organized, and a lot of FUN!
Disregard last post… I see the link was added to the main page this afternoon. Can’t wait to start first thing Saturday morning!
Where is the link on Geo-Cache site for the downloads of the “New” caches for the weekend?
Thought they were going to posted on-line @ 12:00 PM
Thanks
What is the maximum mileage radius out from West Bend that the new caches will be placed?
Thanks
Thank You!
Thanks so much for the info… That clears up a lot of questions. Will the link to the new caches be on the WGA sight, or on the main cache page from Geocach.com Cache Bash page?
I was going to have someone in West Bend pick up our two team packets Friday night for us. We are pre-registered already. Is this ok for someone else to pick up your team registration packet? It’s a 3+ hour drive for me Saturday morning, this way I don’t have to worry about making the deadline?
I’ve been reading along and have a few questions as well. I plan on downloading the 50 new caches placed for the event when I get home from work Friday night. How will the “new” caches be listed for download to keep them seperate from what’s already placed? I was planning on running a PQ of the West Bend area before I leave on Saturday morning, but how do I tell which ones are the “new ones” if they are mixed in with what’s already placed on Geocachs web site?
West Bend already has a thousand caches, it would be almost impossible to tell which are the new ones to grab for the raffle? I was hoping to load the new, plus some of the old ones that might be close by as well, but this would be a nightmare to sort on my PN-40?
I won’t have the new firmware installed yet to my PN-40 where you can download seperate PQ’s to the SD card and access them via menu. I have two PN-40’s available… was thinking of loading just the new caches on one unit if I can tell “whats new”, and loading the older caches on the other?
Hope this makes sense.
Thanks for the help.
