I should be able to make this one. I will have to come right from work and 3 may be cutting it a bit close. I’ll just have to run and catch up to the group. At least there should be a nice path to follow by then.
Congrats what a huge milestone.
I’m a daily browser but rarely post so don’t feel bad. Welcome glad you decided to come out of the shadows.
Congrats on a few milestones. I guess the late night and early morning raids on the FTF will resume shortly. I should have taken better advantage of lull.
Congrats I hadn’t realized you were so close to 400. I know you have been giving CJ a run for his money on the FTF in the area.
What you mean 90% of cemetery caches are in cedar trees? Great I guess I can stop doing cemetery caches now.
I did this one in early Dec before it was frozen. I followed Jim’s advice and found a deer trail and followed it to the island. Half way through the deer track started to veer away from the island and I made the mistake of trying to bushwack through the cattails. I made it about 50 yds and through chest high cattails and was exhausted. I think snowshoes would be more of a hinderance in the cattails. The yellow pin is where I started. It may not be the ideal spot but there were several trails running to the island. I was able to park down in the parking lot and made it from car to island and back in 35 min.
I’d love to join you guys if not to just meet and add some morale support but we will be in the Dells that weekend. Good Luck.
How bad is that, I had to post a DNF. Came back today and found it on the second try. 😳
As it stands I have off Mar 5-6 if need be I could probably get someone to work for me on the 7th. If all goes well I should be able to attend.
Nice list Gotta Run thanks. One that I haven’t seen mentioned is GCB9A8 Wet Maze. It’s an island in a marsh so a boat, kayak or canoe won’t do you any good.
I don’t have the equipment but I would be interested in seeing how this works.
I work for a Sheriff’s Dept as a Jailer. We wear the same uniforms as the Deputies so everytime someone sees us in uniform they always ask if we arrested someone today. I love the parents that say to there kids behave or the officer is going to arrest you. The common response is nope I’m just a Jailer. I was thinking of getting that as a license plate so I shortened it to JSTAJLR. Never did get the plate but I’ve used the name ever since. Most people call me just call me J.
I love Angel Food candy, but I’m liking the sound of those chocolate covered chocolate chip cookie dough balls. Each year we make white chocolate covered pretzles.
I use the ones from that link. A variety of sizes and styles are all available. I printed off a few of each and have them in my car with plastic bags so I can replace logs when needed.
10/13/2009 at 3:58 am in reply to: 10 Mile Mascoutin Valley Series completed in under 3 hours #1915187It couldn’t have worked out better if we had planned it. We started out almost at the same time. I was wondering if I should start at 1 or 10. BakRdz correctly guessed that I would be on this one and that I would start at 1 so he started at 10. We both surprised each other in the middle and I’m glad since my flashlight started to die. We both laughed when we thought of you seeing the logs come in and your 11 caches were done 3 hrs after being posted. Thank you CJ and Muddybottoms for a wonderful series. I’ll be out early tomorrow to finish the rest.
