I tried this several months ago and it was disappointing. Because of this thread I tried it again (iPhone) and it seems to work pretty well. My biggest problem now is finding someone who cares where I am *snif*

This is just a reminder of the seed picking event at the UW Waukesha Field Station on the 12th of September. The details remain as planned: picking in the afternoon followed by a potluck meal around a fire after-wards. See the link for specifics.
Geocaching v2.1 has been published — fantastic for iPhone and iTouch… PQs!. Ayefon app now appears very obsolete.

I have tried both applications in the field using an iTouch and found them not ready for prime time. A smart use of GSAK and a modern GPSr beats them both. I have hopes for the gc.com app but the other seems to have fatal design flaws.
And there is the psychological problem of losing/dropping the iTouch.
I have a thingy as described in an email.
Forgot to ask:
How are locations handled? What about names and descriptions?

First of all, I’m amazed that reviewers would get responses that equated to “bite me.”
It was such attitudes that led to my failure as a reviewer. I still grind my teeth over some interactions with hiders 2 years later.
It takes special people to do the job.
