Lived it. Loved it.
I have been using it since it was published a week or so ago. 15 caches found with it. I also traveled to Illinois and back. It didn’t route me through Michigan. I even used the new offset feature (in feet) on a cache in Illinois. Ultimate cache was a no-find but not GPSV’s fault.
They added a new game where you make your moves in the game by walking around. I gotta find an empty field to play it.
I have not been experiencing the problems Steve has been reporting.I was one of the people that needed to have my nose rubbed in it.
But as of Saturday, I have a multiple in the same park so there’s an opportunity for a two-fer for anyone who shows up for the gang cache.
It looks I picked the wrong week to give up geocaching.
Cold and snow plays havoc with my desire to be outside. Keep this message for a couple of weeks and it will match reality — assuming the absence of fresh precip.
What was the nature of the approval? A phone call, a letter etc?
From what authority: police, parks, common council?
Suitable for framing?
Steve Bukosky and I went down to Illinois for this event. Nothing inspires like the promise of free food and caches.
The caches, none of which were temporary, were high quality. Some even had a “Kettle Moraine” look and feel.
I have many more faces to match to signatures. Even before we had started on our first hunt, we had met several teams with recognizable names. Only other Wisconsin team that we ran into was team CacheBarr. Others may have been present.
We didn’t win any prizes, in fact we missed the event raffle because we were out caching.
The event went off flawlessly. Most impressive was the amount of visible effort the organizers had done in preparing caches, cache sheets and answering questions.
And the cheeseburgers were excellent. Iowa corn fed beef, Wisconsin cheese, Illinois prepared. Can’t lose.

A little early to get out your spring stuff. Spring doesn’t come until July.
But when I find forgotten things in unused clothing, I prefer cash, not cache.
I just voted and the Internet equivalent of smoke seemed to rise from the the inner workings: server errors.
My goodness what happens at 50 that I need to worry about? Is there a secret initiation to the club?
As one of the young’uns that have completed this cache I can emphasize that this isn’t just your daddys tupperware. Inovative containers in curious places.
Its not my fault I was first, my GPSr works better in the morning.
There is a cure.
A musician friend of mine told me of a “Universal Solvent” for those songs that you can’t get out of your head. Its “Lemon Tree”.
So whenever you get one of those annoying songs in your head (and Latitude-Longitude, the song, IS annoying) start singing: “Lemon tree, very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet, but the fruit of the poor lemon…”
Don’t call me in the morning.
Li’l Otter is making a sweep of the northern Wisconsin caches before the onset of winter. She has been away from the internet and will have a chance to respond when she returns to her access point.
We all have strong opinions on these subjects. But there are better forums for expressing them.
As important as they are, especially on the eve of the picnic, let the dust settle a little and lets find some refuge in our common pastime.
Let us stay on topics related to geocaching.
For example any idiot knows that the best GPSr is a &(0
Most traps are submerged in small streams, drainage ditches or culverts.
By coincidence, when I geocache, so am I.
Asked and answered. Thanks.
