This is also a great Idea. If the people using the benches don’t know what Geocaching is, this would give them some info on a dedicated group of Wisconsin cachers, and they could do research online, and through this find out what the WGA is all about.

Once again, another great Idea, and I would be more than willing to help out with this. Anything to bring Geocaching out to the Non-Geocaching public, is a plus in my book. Maybe this way, the cops will know it is a geocache in a BLAZE ORANGE Match Stick case, and not bomb!!!!!

I beleive this is a great Idea. It will help out when putting on demonstrations at nature centers, and schools. This will definetely get the word out.

I would definetely support the Liscense plate issue. I have Vanity Amateur Radio Plates, and think it really lets my vehicle stand out from others. I would be one of the first to sign up for the new plates.

I agree with Zuma whole heartdely. I think it is a great Idea, and it would get us out there into the General (Non-Caching) Public, and will also be a great way to bring in new members.

in reply to: Questions for Candidates – WGA Logo change #1768471

I think the present Logo is good. It is widely recogonized at this point. If changes could be made to make it better, I think it is very important to stay with the Theme of the Orginazation, and to not make the Logo look to “Busy”

I feel that it is important to visit the forums on a regular basis. It doesn’t take long to type a few replies, and some people may take not responding for a few months, as you really don’t care about your position, or your constituents. Neither are good. Yes, I do think the BOD members should be accessible in the forums. I would say, at least be able to respond within a short amount of time.

in reply to: Questions for Candidates – Attendance at Events #1768445

I do beleive that BOD members should at least be strongly encouraged to attend as many events as possible in their area, to let there constituents needs and wants be heard. I know, I try to attend as many events as possible, for two reasons. I like to share stories with others, and love meeting new people to go caching with. It is amazing how talking to someone once or twice, can turn into a great friendship. I feel that it is very important for BOD Members to be accessible by there constituents, for the progression of an orginization.

in reply to: Questions for Candidates- Disabled caches #1768433

I beleive that several months is a long enough time. If the Cache owner does not fix the problem, and get it back up and running, It should be archived so that someone else can use the area. I know, there were several in the Green bay area that sat disabled for in excess of four months before they were finally archived, and some of them were at really nice parks. I am in the process of trying to adopt two caches in the Green bay area from a team that moved out of state, and it is like pulling teeth.

You cannot beat the Garmin StreetPilot 2610, or 2720, or 2820.

The 2610 you can buy as a factory refurb on-line for about 350.00 comes with bean bag mount, hard mount, adjustable bracket, City Navigator software, as well as all cables, and power adapters. a caching parnter KS9WI, just bought one about three months ago, and it is great.

in reply to: Questions for Candidates: Mega Events #1768339

I feel the same as the other canidates, that yes, with the Proper ground work being layed, that Wisconsin could hold a great mega event. I feel from talking to people that attended the last GeoWoodstock, that it was not fully thought out. One thing we don’t want to do, is to put an event toghether Half A’sed, and then come out of it looking like Chumps, I agree whole heartdely with Anne On that one. I also would support the committee, with at least some members having attended one or more Mega Events, to bring good Ideas to the table.

Congrats to you guys. Keep up the awesome work.

    Thanks Zuma for the advice.

Due to the waining daylight, we opted for the Take a Hike Cache. Right where we expected it to be, but still had to get to Merrill, and then back to the Oconto Falls area. Thanks for the Help.

also thanks, for the Yellowstone trail series. I did a couple of them on the way back from Minnesota to grab my pages.
