I recieved a email with a tracking number, it seems the herd is thinning and heading for their new farms (or homes)

I should have taken you up on this offer.
Wrote one up and had one of the local EarthCache Goddess read it over for her input and made some changes based on her recommendation and submitted it
Rejected, so I added more info based on what EC said it was lacking in and rewrote it and submitted it again
Rejected again, this time they wanted more info in a different direction. I have again rewritten and resubmitted and again waiting.
If it is accepted this time we may have to publish an abridged version as it is so long.
I am almost to the point to say forget it and give up on EarthCaches entirely

Congrats and welcome to the club

I like the idea of trying to make it encompass a 3 day event also. We came up for 2 of the days (but it is only a 25 minute drive for us). We liked the Meet & Greet but I like night caching better. The Saturday portion we found most of the caches but if it was varied some to include some field solve puzzles and something else on Sunday I think it would be more beneficial.
Looking at this form the tourism point for West Bend we were real cheap and only at dinner there (and a drink at the meet and greet), but if they were to find a away to do something more interesting than the Flash Mob I think we would come back up. Of course if it something water related I may have to borrow a canoe or a set a waders.
The set up for the first time was good, actually very good and all involved should be proud of what they accomplished, but I applaud them for also asking what can we do to improve

AstroD-Your suggestion might get guys like me to look a little more for them, but your link doesnt work

in reply to: Benchmarking Ed & Discussion – in EC forum #1898566

I only have 2 benchmarks (and 2 I could not log as they are not on GC) and I have 6 ECs. Neither one excites me much (sorry EarthCaching nuts), however I think if we have a forum for ECs we should have it for benchmarks.
I would probably have more benchmarks but GC doesn’t make it as user friendly as it is to find where other caches are.

Agreed, plus she has a couple of logic puzzles that are in the area. We tried to make Card Sharks final our 1100th but it did not happen, but one of her logic puzzles is our 1100th

Really nothing to tell. At both Spooky Lagoons we were asked what we were doing and after a brief explanation of Geocaching they said ok and moved on.
We really looked like a villianous group I guess

Just wanted to say thanks to all who showed and took part. Roxy & I , along with the Lone Gunman got 5 finds of 7 attempts (a double DNF to finish the night)
    Those who took part were:
    Marc 54140
    Benny 7210
    Digital Dan
    Caching Bopping Bunny FuFu
    Lone Gunman
    Wywrdsn
& I believe it was Team Astro D also (my apoligies if I missed somebody)
And 2 visits by the Green Bay Police

We had a lot of fun, night caching with a group is the way to go!!

in reply to: Which Garmin Auto GPS would you buy? #1898167

For those of use using the Nuvis, I just downloaded the POI loader and caches so that I can use the Nuvi as a paperless alternative. The Nuvi stays in the car, and I use my Etrex for in the field, but never having to worry about mistyping a coordinate and have a back up to our Palm this worked GREAT.
If you have a Nuvi and GSAK it is highly recomended

    in reply to: Multiphobia! #1898315

I would have been on the low priority end, but after doing The Magnificent Seven themed Multi in the Milwaukee area I have taken a new and different approach. I am now looking to see who placed the multi and what I know about that cacher. Meaning if they are involved I know that most likely waypoint issues will be resolved. Also knowing if I have done other caches by an individual helps. The hiders reputation helps also.
As an example I have done only one or two of Jim & Linda caches, but the few I have done were good caches, your reputation is excellent. So if I was up in your area I wouldn’t think twice as to tackling one of your multis

T&B it sounds as if Mark is lying down the gauntlet for the two you to appear.

I could always use a little help from you two on a EarthCache idea I have and need a little help in setting one up. Of course I can tell you it is a great idea but I don’t think you will see it soon, it is in Utah.

Please..I can beg if need be

We have a Nuvi 200, just the bare bones model and absolutely love it. They are quirky at times but you adapt some. I have not tried the paperless caching with it but I may have to look at that some.
If you want a quick lesson on the Nuvi let me know & I can give you a run thru..but it will have to wait to Wednesday.
One thing I have found that they are great for is caching out of your normal area, our worked great in South Carolina and we expect on other vacations

in reply to: How many unfound but solved puzzles do you have? #1898191

Between Wisconsin, Nevada & Utah we have about 35 solved but not found puzzles and another 20 or so that we know are field solves.
We had more that were solved but we found a few. Now just to solve Stereogensis
