Looks good, the irony I’m in one of the pics
Have to admit that I like the location, but I also have already booked for Geocoin Fest
It just seems we could have planned better, after all the day the Geocoin Fest was announced it was listed in our forums
Bragging in logs, I have to say that I have not found yours to braggart. In fact I would say that some of your cache logs have inspired us to be better cachers, you certainly inspired us on the DeLorme and counties challenges, and then on to the well rounded cacher challenge. Being like T&B is a pretty good thing to aspire to be
Congrats on getting to 500. Looked at the cache page, looks like a fun one to do, just added to my to do list
Ok now I am thinking we need to make a trip up to the Rapids area. Our first 5/1 took us two trips and an hour of searching each time. If it were meant to be easy it would be a 1/1
Congrats T & B
Simply there are things much more important than the numbers. Hope you get plenty of time to enjoy the little one.RC
Perhaps you should have asked why I choose to handle it the way I did instead of this continued behavior. You assume I did not check it in November. I have had people tell me they are working on a cache but have never came to find it, so your comments about February lets just say I have heard this before.
But the real reason was that you wanted me to go check PRIOR to you making the trip because it was part of the Lonely Cache Game. Isn’t the idea of the Lonely Cache Game to find those that are not done in a long period of time? Otherwise I am sure we could ask somebody to email all COs that caches haven’t been done is say 6 months and demand they go check there cache.
I shut it down because it was missing and in my opinion the way you asked me to go check on it was not the intention by the Lonely Cache Game. You want the credit in LCG you have to do all the work, not ask somebody else to do it for you
Plus you ask me to change the puzzle and place a new container so you can get credit. What gives?
But if it bothers you so much one of my other puzzles will be shutting down soon due to the ability to find a clue has changed, you may want ot go quick find it, but then again that cache isnt part of LCG
Sorry to see that you are leaving Seldom. Being outside the Fox Valley area I dont look at your puzzles often, but when I do I usually end up banging my head on the desktop in gleeful frustration. I think it is safe to say there are few people that as passionate about puzzle caches as you and if for no other reason is a loss to our community that you are leaving.
As a puzzle cache owner I have experienced some of the pass the answer around antics, where on a simple ones I dont mind it, but on harder ones it irritates me. Or when I have a cache that has a combination lock on it as part of the puzzle and have people leave it unlocked.
Sorry to see you go-Bad things is now I will have to archive one of my caches, your WGA avatar is a needed clue on it
Since I am the cache owner I will leave this alone aside one comment.
I am right there with S|S on archiving my caches. Granted this was not a Puzzle Tour situation, but I have been very close to shutting mine all done and RC your way of publicity handling this matter makes that decision so much easier
Congrats Froggerz.
They do seem to be one of our teams that have a high percentage of puzzle finds, when they hit 1000 they had 200 puzzles and the look like they will be at 400 or better when they get to 2000Regarding Naes comment-sorry I dont know how any other group handles there shirts besides Cafepress, it is just my belief we can do better both in value and revenue. One suggestion off the top of my head is do any of the trade schools offer a printing class that could print product.
Regarding Zumas comment on the possible revenue-Sorry you got me confused. From things that have been said over various threads, we made nothing from CafePress last , and per the Board meeting minutes we made $200.00 for the sale of shirts. This tells me the income from shirt is based on what Tie was selling at the camp out last year. So by bumping up the price a bit we would just be only making X, we would be adding it to additional revenues.
Food for thought (please correct me if I wrong) Tie sold shirt for $15.00 per shirt unless you needed a bigger guy size, which I believe was $2.00 more. So for me alone $17.00. CafePress, $14.99 for the shirt (up to xl), $3.00 more for 2xl plus. So I am at $17.99. Now if this I think proves my argument because at 99 cents more so what, nobody will complain about the buck. However you have to add $5.25 for shipping, so the $17.00 shirt the WGA sold sells for $23.24. At that difference I aint buying
Regarding the stickers, yes they will add income but first we can not be sure how much. Secondly I dont know that people will buy them for use. After all Groundspeak sells stickers for ammo cans and in all my finds I think I have seen less than 25 of those stickers, granted I dont see many ammo cans either. BTW I dont mean to sound negative about the stickers I actually like the idea.
Zuma,
You missed my point with the TShirts and Cafe Press, after seeing how much they marked up the product I wouldn’t go there. Try pricing something out there yourself. I would guess that if you added a minimal mark up on shirts as I suggested (say $1.00 or 2.00) per shirt it would be a bigger income stream as I dont think many will use Cafe Press given there pricesI guess for us the biggest thing is the date, and can we blow up the kayak again (yes it is inflatable)

Glad everyone had a good time. We sure did. In fact we are thinking about not waiting for next winter to set up the next adventure. Stay tuned for a possible paddle cache outing for the summer. We have some ideas we’re working on…
My one and only paddle cache, I fell head first into the canoe..maybe I will pass on this one..or get head gear
Thanks OPS-You must have bribed the weather man for this day. Very nicely done, a great group of people to be out caching with. Funny 6.25 hours there, 10.5 hours home..how does that happen
