Welcome! Thanks for sharing your story. You’ll find lots of helpful folks here who love geocaching. We look forward to seeing you at an geocaching event one of these days.
I can help, Jeremy. PC user with Firefox browser. Roadrunner connection.
cool! Thanks for offering to get Wisconsin and the WGA involved.
Welcome, Dan. Thanks for posting and letting us know something about you. Don’t worry about keeping up with the posts here. You don’t have to scan through them all each time you visit. If you have your computer set to accept cookies from this site, you’ll see a yellow light bulb next to the topic names that have new posts since your last visit. Or, you can click on the link under the WGA logo that says “Click Here To View Today’s Active Topics” to view topics in which someone has posted today.
Greyhounder, the WGA membership showed how intelligent it is by electing you to the board. Great post.
Socko, after you started geocaching back in the “early days,” I remember reading your posts for several months and being amazed at the times of day when you found the caches and posted — often it was 3 or 4 a.m. because you were unable to sleep. We knew even then that you were suffering with pain. Yet you always showed a happy outlook when we saw you on the trails or at geocaching events. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Thanks for all the fun places you have led me to.

I thought it might be worth pointing out that the second Saturday in May is the WGA Campout.
There’s a campout this year? We have to start carrying a calendar.
I’d like to stick with eTrex units for this event, because I’m going to have to give these people a brief group training session before they go out.
So it looks like I have eTrex offers from GrouseTales, Ms. WISearcher, Cat hunter and MRAnderson.
Also, Mary tells me they want to do it either the first or second Saturday in May, so I evidently got the date wrong. Does that still work for the 4 of you to give up your eTrex for a brief time then?
Thanks for the clarification, Brian.
(And thanks for providing me with my blog post for today.)quote:

I didn’t? See above: “Milwaukee area” “…event in April”
(OK, I don’t know precisely what weekend yet, but it will be a Saturday evening.)
Thanks, GrouseTales and Ms. WISearcher. With Mary’s, that makes 3 eTrexes (eTrexia?). I could use two more. Anyone?

But a roll in the snow after sitting in the sauna is very refreshing!
Oh, yah. It’s the Scandinavian thing to do, hey? Very fun!
I just got off the train from Chicago and I can tell you they had no snow to speak of down there. I was very surprised to see that. Back up here in Mequon we had about 10″.
Another reminder, if you haven’t voted, do it now! Right now, one vote could make the difference for some of the candidates.
Nice story, and unusually long for TV news.
The guy in the still photo is a real geocacher that was featured in a syndicated news story maybe a year or more ago on Fox 6, but it wasn’t shot in Milwaukee. I think it was New York, but I don’t remember for sure.
