So, I’m curious did you get the Delorme and if so how do you like it?
I never use Cache Register to sync, lost too many waypoints, I always use Topo. Here is the macro I was referring to, it also gives the stats but places in in your findstats display: http://gsak.net/board/index.php?showtopic=19632&st=0&#entry143162
This macro displays other cool data about your hidden caches also.As for the logs, use get all logs option under the geocaching live section and you get them for the filter if I understand how it works.
There is a macro add in to Findstats that does cache owner stats, if you look on my profile you will see some of the add ins and I believe that tells you who has found the most of your caches.
Yep, that I’ve discovered also, but didn’t post that tidbit in case it was an anomolity in my unit. Kind of hard to stop though when I’m on the interstate and pass my exit and it locks up, for some reason the law frowns on me stopping to let the gps adjust. Laughing!
All in all I’m happy with the unit and recommend it to people, you just need to be brave and prepared for the many things the unit can do.Yep, I knew it was going to double post.. 😳
Changing from auto to hiking is hit menu, scroll to route options and then select your options. Be warned that the auto routing has a glitch where it can keep recalculating and won’t let you exit it easily. I really like the Pn-60 and the support on the Delorme forums is great and I’ve even created my own maps for it. There is a big learning curve with Topo and the maps, but if you take your time and read previous questions about it on the Delorme forums you’ll grow used to the gps.
I have a pn-60 and a laptop with no issues, what programs are you using? Are you turning on the gps to the sd card? Just curious on the steps you are following.
Not that I’m aware of, although the overlook itself is the only closed part. The rest of the area is open although you will need to go on the detour yet as the short road to the top is still closed.
Depending on where you plan on caching you may have better luck on accessing caches from the bottom of the bluff. If you post back here what caches you are after I’m sure the locals of us on here will narrow your parking options.
And as a side note, I started a couple weeks ago on a bookmark list for out of town visitors.. I just need to finish it.If I recall correctly the lonely cache game is based on not found for greater than X months not found but not to exceed more than a certain number amount of caches in that file. So, the LCG can have a maximum amount of 500 caches say, but to get that 500 you may have to only go up to caches not found after February 24, 2011. Any caches not found after that date don’t make the lonely cache list.
I hope that’s the correct way, basically it is a generated list from pq’s and not a member added list.I so wanted to place one out by the 27 bridge on the island just west of it by the point when I was up there this pass July. I decided that I was a bit far to maintain it, nice to see more for me to go after this next summer!
Those caches are not that bad of a hike to them. The worst will be all the underbrush at several of the islands.
Lake Holcombe cache took a bit to find when I was out there, but after a search we came up with. Nice to see people finding it after we dusted it off.
Lake Holcombe is a great area, if it was just a tad closer I’d have one up there hidden.Wisundevil, Weasel and I had plans to make it that far, I see some of the same caches we had in our bookmark list were ones that you visited. We ended up caching in Wyalusing instead as we hit that multi..
I’ve eyeballed that one also but forget about it in the winter and during the summer like you say it’s a bit difficult to get to.
DeSoto, Wi. just south of LaCrosse has them also, it is between LaCrosse and Praire Du Chein. There is an army surplus store there.
