Hi! Nope. There are going to be a good number outside the 30 mile radius by a few miles. In otherwords, if you filtered by 40 you should do it, but that won’t include the 25 that are not listed on GC.Com.

Thanks! But It could not be done without the “army” of hiders.

    Up to 60 caches, all but 5 GC.Com listed/submitted.

I just received another 20 cache coordinates from MamaKat, which by the way, are ALL going to be, or are, GC.COM listed.

    Brief update for you.

We have a crew of about 10 people hiding caches. So far I have mine, Bobcats, Jim1830 and jenhen’s in. We are sitting at 42 caches I am puttnig in a GPX file for download and so far all but 5 are GC.COM submitted or approved. The rest of the crew still has almost a week to submit the coords to me, so, it is looking good!!! I think we will have more than 40 gc.com approved. Unlike last year there are some mystery caches, puzzle caches, multi stage caches and 3 night caches. There are some high difficulty ratings and easy too; in other words, something for everyone!

A special thanks to our Reviewers who are being patient and a HUGE help!!! A special thanks to waytags.com for the generous donations too. The tags ROCK!

Prize packages are nice too. Garmin eTrex Legend CX package, camping gear package, some other nice stuff too that I can’t remember right now.

Like last year, the event will go live at midnight 4/14. You will register and then be able to download passbook and cache coordinate file. I am also trying a GSAK file that will have coords, ratings, hints too, but no guarantee that will work the way I want. I am a reforming luddite…

As with last year, caches will have typical swag, but also coupons, and other stuff from local businesses; FREE FOOD AND DRINK ABOUND!!!

Caches will also have a punch or stamp to validate passbook.

    Stay tuned for more updates.

These are sweet! You have done a great job with them!

    Just my recommendation!

in reply to: Geocaching Grant #1766715

If interested, drop me an Email. I believe your CVB contacted the CHippewa CVB on how to get the grant. The Chippewa CVB got a “trailblazer” award for this thing and I thing the folks at both places have been talking… [email protected]

I dunno, a micro (hey! Its waterproof!) installed in what looks like a urinal cake??? Right under a sticker that says “Don’t eat the big white mint!”

Small change in plans. The CITO coin is not going to be provided as initially indicated. Problem with cost and sponsorship. Details pending, but things are rolling! I had the back of my van full of ammo cans this weekend, looks like count is indeed gonna be around 80 caches with MOST being ones that count for smilies!!!!

Funny, I have a couple yaks too. I’m liking this. Not racing for pinks but for THE COIN… **Sounds like a dare, don’t it**

Serious note: Orienteering, timed runs, puzzle (CSI Style or something like that; Fractal Soup I believe is a cacher who did a bunch of these types of things…). All great ideas!

in reply to: SPRING Chippewa Valley Geocaching Event UPDATE #1769822

I know. I was trying to have it so there would be summer break time as was the case last year so kids and families could play. However, when working with CVB, there are other events that get booked out year or so in advance. There was thought given, but it did not happen this time. Ralph, thanks for the messages on this too! Many hands and all that…

That is part of the plan. Understand last year was an experiment. We also had 2 months to set it up, and for a trial run, didn’t do too bad. This year, we learned from the experiment. We are going to be using some of the more beautiful caches/locations that are out there, setting out new ones in other locations, and setting out temps as well. This way, there is something for everyone; out of towners can do em all, locals can revisit some, do some new ones, bag some temps, but still have fun, regardless… Also going to set up at least one new night cache for this too. Stay tuned.
