Shape of Wisconsin, divided into the GC.com color quadrants, with a compass rose on it? A big ol buck with an ammo can in its rack? Dunno. Just getting ideas out there.
Since this is a fledgling event, promo was kept small. It has been internet, Charter communications has filmed a segment that is airing, a PR firm has been dropping info in the Twin cities with TV and radio stations and banners on those websites (which are kind a cute, by the way).
Since this is being seriously considered as an annual thing, we are starting to talk about what to do different and would welcome emails with suggestions to pass on to the muggle PTB, the folk at CVB, and others who are wanting to climb on board…

Lets shoot for July. Early morning get a good start. I have been approved by SWMBO, and could drive a couple down to meet at “trailhead”. Zuma, want a ride?
And mine?
Not sure if that is a good promo or not… “Come Cache, Get Gas”… I’ll have to put an event cache at Bush Brother’s Baked Bean place in Augusta!!!
Oh, yeah. Some KML Overlays will work in it (Like Zuma’s Wheelchair accessable caches) but the main one from Geocaching.com does not. So Google Earth is good.
I have Navigator v7 and it works slick. I use it for work too and have been able to find obscure little addresses as well with autorouting. Just be careful looking for Navigator, I found mine for just a hair over 100, while some places are charging 120-150. Good luck!
Interested, but depends on when. I don’t want my dates of preference to be deciding factor, so let me know when. I could use another good adventure!!!
One of my favorites is Irvine Climb in Chippewa Falls, or if you have more time, One Brick at a Time or lastly, White Pine Twilight Zone.
To simplify things… Once you register you get a confirmation email that has a link to get back in to the boards. Here is the link.
http://www.geocachingwisconsin.com/index.cfm?event=postingpageThe foxfire issue is being fixed as I type per CVB. You should be able to post comments to the pages from foxfire ASAP.
It appears that the CVB server issues are fixed. The GPX file is now available for download and use. Thanks for your patience and participation!!!!
From the tech guy…
Hi Kent,After doing some server tweaking, the gpx file seems to correctly prompt a save dialog box and correctly saves the file using IE. Firefox still displays an XML file on my machine. However, you can right click and save as a file on both IE and Firefox. I don’t believe the file layout was the problem because the behavior was the same with both the original and newly received file. Browser settings can also affect behavior. We’ll continue to work on this and hopefully come up with a resolution later today.
Hope this helps.Kent
