I have “bagged” several of the new ones on the trail this week. Nicely done. There is something for everyone; nice easy ones and some longer walks. I am fond of the Ghost of Mary Dean though. Nicely done.
A cool grand. Way to go Bastardo. I also have chached with the Cat and happily we were DNFs on the same. Makes me feel better. Bob’s the man!
I know they have been doing this in southern states for about a year. You can log onto a site, find ballon packages that fell around your area, and if you are the first to post your intent to find it, you are given X amount of time to recover it for the given bounty. If you can’t do it in that time, it is no longer yours alone to seek, it is open to anyone, first come, first serve, and you get the $.
lock-n-lock have my vote. Of course, cryovials are also a favorite of mine for micros.
And if you see bobcat RUN, RUN as fast as you can! Oh, wait. I mean A Bobcat. Wait. See A bobcat. Aw, you get it. (all in jest of course from Special K)
Newbie, welcome! Drop a line at geocaching.com if you are on the western side of WI.

In humble defense of myself… My neighbor who works for Convention and Tourism narced me out to the TV station; they called me and I got drafted. I also took my son, Jim 1830, Jolly Giants, his kids and I tried to hide… It didn’t work!!! Then, they wanted to follow on a hunt, their idea. We get 100 feet down the trail of my River Bluffs cache, the reporter falls on her kiester and the camera guy nearly goes off the cliff; we had to go to plan B for “s”ence of EC. I asked that they not show too much of the surroundings. They did any way. Smart folk. As far as buried treasure goes; I WAS CLEAR we DO NOT BURY CACHES!!!!! I was, however, edited and edited and edited. I also mentioned environmental stewardship and CITO, they thought that was boring too. Hint to you in the future. You get a call from a reporter? RUN!!! I should have learned from the past (I had a run in with Primetime live years ago about a child abuse case I worked on…)

FWIW, recreational bridges (such as rails to trails ones) are a different “type” than a highway bridge. If you look at the intent, avoiding placing near infrastructure that could be a terrorist target is the idea, right? I have one placed on an old railroad bridge that is now part of a rec system and the approver had no problem with it when I detailed where it was located, that it was not used for traffic, etc. Oh, and it is not an ammo can. I don’t get hiding under an interstate overpass calling it an “extreme cache” myself. Cest la vie.
I am putting one in a cache for FTF. The cache is gonna be nasty and earned as FTF. One has been released as TB and two are being used as gifts.
Thanks Zuma! I will concur with the Three Legged Dog. Nice puzzle, but then, so is “Bobcatw98 Throws in the Towel.” As far as lunch break goes… Lunch Break? I don’t get no stinkin lunchbreak.
Kent because it is my first name and 1915 because it was the address of the first house I owned. I figured if I got lost easily… Besides, as with Zuma, since I didn’t know how long I would do this I didn’t put much thought into it. I really want to change my name to Jolly Roger, but I seem to be established now. Sigh.
My goodness. I wandered away from these boards for a couple months over the summer and I miss the fun! Cest la vie. Embarassedly I would like 5 of them to start, with more to come.
Sorry, been away a while. Lots of good ideas. I kind of like the explorers image from the quarter that didn’t make it. Kind of speaks to what we do too. My 2 cents worth.
