    (Warning, adultish in nature)

Did you see the story in the paper about the lady from the UP that swallowed the Gillette super sensor razor blade??

Not only did she give herself a tonsillectomy, and appendectomy and a hysterectomy…
she circumcised her lover, castrated her husband, cut off the fingers of two casual acquaintances and gave the minister a hair lip

(amazing the jokes you can remember from being a bartender)

You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your butt and walk over to the TV to change the channel!!! NO REMOTES!!! Oh, no, what’s the world coming to?!?!

psstt…. there were only 5 channels, 6 if you had good reception
(I remember my parents using us as remotes…. “hey you, change the channel, nope, nope, nope, wait… lets see what is on this one”

(Do they make glow in the dark enamel??)

I have some “Found It!” pins from Oakcoins.com and they glow in the dark. What ever it is that makes those glow I would imagine could be used on a coin.

Very cool, I am actually having a very fun time coming up with this design!! Glow in the dark enamel, or whatever it is will be a definate want for this coin then if it doesn’t increase the cost to much.

    There is a cost associated.

I am sure it is less than embedding a working compass 😉

LOL, I bet it would be less… well, I guess that bridge can be crossed IF the coin design is choosen 🙂 until then, I will just keep playing with ideas 🙂

Ok, the idea is to have the coin made in a gold metal with raised metal design, green enamel state, raised metal rivers and lakes, the sun design is engraved and can have a clear enamel fill in to eliminate tons of dirt getting stuck in it. The writing “Wisconsin Geocaching Association” and “Trackable at geocaching.com” will both be imprinted and not raised. I was thinking that opposite the sun on the front, the back should be the moon… with either clear finish or, what would be really cool if it is available, would be glow in the dark enamel!! (Do they make glow in the dark enamel??)

lol, the only thing that photo is missing is the big green geo sticker and a note saying, “No Muggles” 🙂

LOL, you guys are too funny…. what about werewolves??? I hear we have them up north 🙂

I have an EX-sister-in-law who claims she saw the reported werewolves many years ago while at a cabin party up north. She has some issues so I am not sure of her condition at the time of the supposed sighting 🙂

I hear that the price of shares for most drug companies really shot up after the bill was signed… hmmm go figure, I guess I should have invested before the bill was signed so that I can afford to pay for the repercussions of the bill. 🙂
Also, fines for people who do not purchase health care?? Really?? The government imposes fines on people not interested in purchasing a service. There I can see the legal issue.
As with all legislation there is good and bad. I do like the fact that insurance companies can not drop you due to illness, must cover preexisting conditions (particularly good for people with childhood diseases such as Krohn’s, diabetes, various cancers, etc.), and can no longer cap the expenses incurred due to illness.
As far as veterans and the military go, these people should be taken care of, I feel it is a great injustice to do anything less. They have served their time, many have risked their lives and mental stability just to serve this country, it is the countries responsibility to take care of them for the services they freely gave to keep us safe and secure.

(In case you are wondering, yes, I have to much time on my hands, the business I worked for closed in Feb. and needless to say the job market is a bit weak unless you want to work for Min. wage 🙂 My new hobbies: job searching, being able to be a FULL time mom, and GEOCACHING 🙂 – hey, I need to get out and move around or I will become FAR to fluffy 🙂 )

You’re right about the compass rose being over done, but I used it anyway. 🙂 I thought of putting a GPS on the front, but then people would complain that it’s a Garmin/Magellin/Delorme instead of a Garmin/Magellin/Delorme.

Embedding a working compass is a very intriguing idea…

I had the exact same thought about a gps… and ruled it out for the very same reason :).

An embedded compass would be a very cool idea, I like it, though I think it may work better in a round coin design (easier to hold for actual use of the compass)

I just thought this a little funny… of all the things that the news (in Milwaukee) could bring up in regards to issues with the health care bill, they have chosen to report that there is a issue with trying to figure out whether sex offenders should be able to have prescriptions of Viagra covered. Um, duh, wouldn’t this one be a given?? NO!!! Do they not have more information to pass along to the general public?? Maybe a link to an actual copy of the bill?? Maybe even a brief over view of the bill in layman’s terms to help educate the public as to what these goof balls are doing to us all?? I am not that terribly old, but I do remember a time when the news actually was informative, it would be nice to see something like that again instead of all the crime, shootings, stabbings, etc.
    “steps off soapbox”
    OK, I feel better… NEXT

I am playing with a design. If there is anyone out there that would be interested in giving a hand with trying to clean up my idea with a computer design I would appreciate any help :). I am good with drawing, not so computer savvy. I believe my color pencils will not do the justice to this design that a computer design would.

    My idea is:
    Front of coin:
State outline in gold, State in green enamel, rivers and lakes in blue enamel, 3/4 of a compass rose in the lower left corner with the year 2010 to the right of the rose just above the bottom edge of the state, across northern Wi “Another Day, Another Cache”
I think the idea of having the arch over this N, NE area of WI will eliminate the possibility of Door County being broken off or having it snag other cache items while still keeping the integrity of the state making it easily identifiable. Please let me know if this idea will fit into the parameters you are seeking.
    Back of coin:
State outline in gold, State in Green enamel, (Rivers and Lakes in blue enamel – maybe), the edge of the gold arch will say “Trackable at Geocaching.com” and there will be an oval where the sun was on the front to hold the tracking number, there will be a mosquito in gold over northern WI, a human figure in gold-arms and legs extended across western WI, with the words “Deet Me”

I will keep playing around with trying to make this idea look presentable unless I hear from someone with some computer talent :).

    Thanks in advance 🙂

I find that bribing them with ice cream or treats works well too 🙂
I also noticed that it is much easier to get them to go on ones if flashlights are involved…kids LOVE flashlights, lol
Anything that involves a little bit of the unknown to peak their curiousity 🙂
