Well I’m not much of a Java fan myself because my forte is in the languages of the Evil Empire (Microsoft). Based on my involvement with various projects though I have had to use Java and have also dabbled with some Java programming. It’s like anything having it’s Pro’s / Con’s. I could sight a number of equivalent examples of the Evil Empire “forcing” software on me as well that hoses things up. Fortunately with Java you can uninstall it relatively easily compared to the “other guys”.
So enough of the rambling – I can’t explain how Java turns itself back on, but I’m a programmer not an infrastructure guy which are different specialties (similar to body shop guy vs. tire change guy).

I think he said something about likeing coffee, speaking a different language because of projects he has worked. And an Evil something is forcing him to see a mechanic to kick some tires…..

Not sure how often I will be able to do it myself!!! It just so happens that current circumstances have allowed me the free time to obsess :). I have this summer yet, and then if I haven’t found a decent job by then it will be back to school for me!!! I am sure my numbers will slow by then :), but I am going to make the most of what I can until then!!!

Hmmmmm now that is a thought for summer… either cache with mommy or stay home and clean… that just might work!!!!!

Thank you, thank you… I wasn’t going to go today until I realized it was the 1 month “anniversary” of my 100th find 🙂 So I ran out and grabbed the 9 I needed and even made it back by 1pm to be home for the TV guy to work on my TV :). I have only been caching for a short time but I find that the people I meet and chat with are just a great bunch of people. I have had fun taking friends and kids along with me on the caches and passing along the little bit of knowledge I have gained from this addiction. It has also been a great challenge for me and my kids by pushing our physical limits and realizing just how much we can really do… kudos to everyone who has placed the wonderful caches we have been able to find so far and the many more we plan on finding!!!

Myself I totally purge the GPS every week or two and load fresh. I do this as there always new caches being created and old ones being archived or being disabled. I’d personally hate to seek a cache which has been disabled just because three weeks ago when I loaded it into my GPS it was still OK….I think my limit is like 5,000 caches.
Maybe I will give that a shot… once I figure out how to do multiple sends 🙂 (I just have to read the instructions 🙂 )
The way I load is by hitting the “send to gps” button, I was able to do that on almost 1000 caches when I first got my gps. I have of course found and deleted almost 200, I have added others with no issue the same way. I have room for about 40 caches at this point (1000 limit for me) so I have no idea what is going on as I haven’t had this issue yet (that I know of-it’s hard to keep track of almost 1000 caches 🙂 ) I was just curious as to if it was the website or my gps, being that I am technology challenged, I am pretty clueless.

Not sure where you are in the state, but we had a rash of thefts like that here around Milwaukee with a big news story on them about 3-4 weeks ago… maybe they moved on to a different area that wasn’t “hot”. It is sad to see people steal… one of my biggest pet peeves!!!!
