I was there the same day as the_pirate_monkies & redwingrr and I just parked in the lot off 72 no problems. Didn’t see another person the entire time I was in the preserve. Nice and peaceful, just the way I like it.
I like both of them, especially the Waldo tag. I’ll have to let you know when I have some new tags done so we can trade again. 🙂
Nice designs, I’ll definitely be hitting you up when I’m ready to go with a 2nd tag. 🙂

It has been a tradition the last few years that my older daughter and I go caching on Thanksgiving (I never will forget the year we met Team Vaughan up a sewer pipe) and ‘Black Friday’. Last year we had an armed escort to a cache. A really nice hunter (ON PUBLIC LAND) walked and talked to us on our way to his spot. It was a great experience for my daughter. He said that he liked the movement on the trails, because it scares up the deer. We always have the Blaze orange with us.
Kungfuhippie: if you are downtown Chicago it is easier to use google maps then your GPS. There is no signal in those urban canyons.
Sounds like a good tradition to start for our family as well. Thanks for the heads up on Chicago, but I’m actually going after Beverly & my 600th so I’ll be in the northwestern suburbs.
I’m dumping the kiddos with grandma and heading to Chicago to cache. If I get shot on my own, she’ll call me stupid, get shot with the babies and she’ll finish the job! 😯
Congrats to everyone involved and thanks for getting this series on my radar, looking forward to doing these!
Now I’ve got to design my 2nd tag so I can use the new back. 😆

One of my pet peeves regarding cemetery hides is “clever” or evil hides. Not appropriate.
My other main pet peeve in general is any hide placed in such a way that people get aggressive in messing up the location in their search. The sport, as it has evolved, seems in some cases to have become “just how hard can I make this for someone to find?” not “can I make this so someone can find it?” A hide can be clever and difficult, with the emphasis on clever being key.
Agreed, when I want to be clever or evil I think it’s time for a puzzle cache where the puzzle is the hard part. If you do the hard brain work, I want your find to be nice and easy!
It’s a shame that this has come about because since we’ve started caching, we enjoy the WSQ caches for the chance to check out the history and headstones associated with them as well as get a smiley. I want to keep enjoying all the nice and peaceful cemeteries out there.
Looking forward to seeing both your guys new tags! 🙂
Just was told that the article is on Groundspeak’s site as well, in the In The News section.
Hit 500 yesterday, football fun today!
Congratulations!
I actually hit a lot of the same caches today while searching for 500, great area and a beautiful day to enjoy the hikes and hides.
Just added them to my tag
Hmmm West Bend, Finland, West Bend, Finland what to do! See everyone at the Ba$h.
