Don’t worry too much, it took him 20 days to notice the post for the 500th cache milestone posted June 10. 🙂 . Watch, He’ll read this tonight and then we will both get hate mail…..
Congrats Dave (and Dan and Jackie as you are all “Team Sagasu”)

Fishing…trout fishing. Waushara County is full of Class A trout streams and that is where I tried to spend my free time, wading the streams and fishing for the big browns and rainbows. Sadly, I have only been out once this year so far (though successful). Oh, well, being outdoors doing anything is better than being at work!

Until Splash gets a job, nobody stand a chance. New cache within 8 miles of my home coords and do I get a shot???? Not a chance.
You would need to be standing on the cache when it published to get the FTF!!!

Oh, well someone has to get it.
    Way to go Mike

I have cached out Waushara (I think) and only know of two caches that were in County Maintained Parks (one is now archived and since it is the only one the owner had and has not yet reactivated it, I think it has been abandoned). All the others tend to be placed in cemeteries or DNR lands. If there were more in county parks, I would not be checking on this. In the Cities, every park seems to hold at least one cache while in this county the cache population is scarce. I hope to remedy this a little but to know the ruling completely would give me a better sense of security in the cache placements. I would like to know if anyone is aware of the status on this issue for Waushara county, ’cause I don’t really want to stir up a bees nest, open a new can of worms, kick the sleeping dog…… whatever. I just want to be able to place some caches for the geocaching community without having to pull them at a later date because they are not “legal”. The DNR requests notification of cache placements. I would think that the county may want notification too.

    Thanks Jeff,

Waytags may be the way to go for this effort. Run several waytags and then to the final. Cuts way down on field maintenance too.

Now to find a Champion for this cause……..

I’ve seen a couple caches that have Red Jeeps placed already. New to the whole Jeep thing so, what are the challenges usually about. Is it advisable to release the Jeeps before the challenge is revealled on July 1?
(oh, yeah, tomorrow is July 1st) Anyway, same question.

can anyone shed some new light on this very old thread?
when i began caching in April ’06, I thought that I saw something about Waushara county not allowing caches in any county owned parks but I can no longer find that information anywhere. Dougger’s comments still ring true in that Waushara County has many beautiful park areas that are just dying for some visitors. I do plan to inquire with the Parks Department but was curious if anyone knew offhand if they repealled this ruling.

    Thanks

I have seen that some people have posted pics of their TBs on their info page and have, perhaps, inadvertently allowed the tracking number to be visible. When I posted pics of my bugs, I had used a photo editor to mask out the numbers for just the reason that Wi_Robin states in her post. I would hope that everyone would abide by the rules and not virtual log anything (other than a virtual cache). There have been a lot of TBs and a few coins that I have come across and many of them are noteworthy. I wish I would have at least jotted down the numbers on these so they could be logged as “discovered”. I would personally have a difficult time logging a coin or bug that I have not seen in person.

I’ve recently released my first geocoin that I have purchased and I have others in reserve to be released. I have not altered them but have included on their mission statements my desire that cachers “trade up or even”. The coin does have a statement regarding the idea of “even if you don’t have a coin to leave but can further the mission of the coin, go ahead and grab it”. I hope that those who find it will abide by those statements. I really enjoy the variety of designs out there and maybe one day if I find a big bag of money in a cache somewhere, I will have a signature coin made. Until then I hope that the community will continue to release and circulate the coins they have and find. 🙂

Workin’ on getting a few more caches placed. Man, if only you could get paid for being a professional geocacher, I could have my cake and eat it too……

But for now the job comes first, then play. 😥

The one I had is currently living in the Windy City. It jumped the border back in April, gone to Indiana and back to Chi-town where it waits to move to another cache. Maybe to a cache near you…..
