I believe that notifying the CO that the cache was nominated is something that is being done. It has in the past but may have gotten overlooked.
If you didn’t receive the banner art contact the admins. That shouldn’t be hard to rectify. (Though there were some dates that just don’t seem to work with the script).

I would be in favor of dropping the “cache can only win cotm once” and setting a period of time between eligibility. This could help newer catchers who wouldn’t see any notification from years ago and unfortunately, some COs never add the banner art.

We DO risk the chance of getting flooded with e-mails , say”VOTE FOR MINE! VOTE FOR MINE!”, which is why we needed to add some modifications to the COTM 5 years ago!

Thinking that this is exactly why the change to regions and the 90 day waiting period were added. having a single COTM winner took out a lot of the potential winners from less populated areas as they are found less often and the potential for “Cache of the Day” ran rampant in the higher populated areas around event time.

Well, it seems odd but I didn’t have to sit through a 8 hour meeting last Saturday.

water is only wet for hydrophilic substances. Hydrophobic substances that have water on them get slippery (waxed floors).

ask them how to make water wetter.

Some events also ask you to write down the tracking number of the bugs/coins you drop. Many times these lists end up being distributed to all who want them so they can discover all the event bugs. Some cachers do this while others despise the practice, calling it cheating since you can’t discover something you never physically saw.

That is up to how you choose to play.

Thanks John. I don’t know if I was aware there was a bookmark list or who “owns” that list. I will also look to see what happened with the missing winners.

I do know that there are some winner banners that we were unable to get the code to work for but not aware that these may not have populated the winners list.

Who the heck knows what the cache of the month is for December?

They are posted on the COTM page, like every month.

…I popped open a bottle of beer and thought…

. . .and I thought Green Bay was the only drunk city in Wisconsin.

Since it was obvious that there are other ones out there, I went back to…

Let’s write a Winter/Christmas story…   each poster can add 5-10 words and then let the next person build on that.

    ok, here we go.

I just found out this morning that my credit union has a branch downtown, and I can easily walk to it from home. I might have to check it out some time.

let us know if they give out any free samples

one good way to help the archiving process to move forward on and MIA cache is for someone that has found it in the past to report it in an NA log.  and you get revisit points.
