in reply to: Candidate Question| Potential BOD meeting date #2046553

April 4th. is a Monday so that’s probably not a good day. However if elected, any other weekend day I’m good to go.

Well, this is a loaded question.

If I had to pick the lesser of the two evils I suppose it would be Donald Trump. He seems to be a loose canon and I would think we would end up in yet another war should he get into the White House.

As for Hillary, she carries so much baggage it’s hard to tell who’s side she’s on. That’s all I’m going to say about that.

I think I’ll be one of the people that scribbles in Micky Mouse as write in.

in reply to: Candidate Question | The WGA Today… #2046144

I didn’t even know the Wisconsin Geocaching Association existed until a few years ago but I’m sure like everything else it has evolved by leaps and bounds since it started in 2002, When I first started Geocaching I had no clue what I was doing and what I did know I learned the hard way. Then somehow I heard about a geocaching event. Again I had no idea there was even such a thing, It just so happened to be a WGA event. When I got there I met some other people that did this geocaching thing to, Geocaching isn’t rocket science but the WGA sure has made a huge difference for me and many others.  I have met so so many wonderful people attending events and made some truly great friends through the WGA.  Someone is always willing to answer questions or help. That is my opinion of the role of the WGA.

    Dogs
Seeing as tho I raise Labrador Retrievers this has to be one of my attributes. Nothing better than having a new batch of them little fur friends running around causing trouble. I enjoy seeing the smileys on the kids faces when they come to pick out a new addition to the family.
When I get home after a long day of geocaching my fur kids are always glad to see me, or maybe it’s just because they have to pee real bad.

    Recommended for kids
We’re all kids at heart! I’m like a little kid in a candy store when it comes to Menards or a Hobby Shop. If I could afford it I would have every adult toy or tool on the planet.
I can get right in the thick of it playing in the sandbox with kids. After all, those are the times kids will remember for the rest of there lives. The little things are the important things! Everything else is just stuff.

    Campfires
Nothing better than sitting by the campfire on a warm summer night with good friends or even by yourself. Listining to the crackling fire, burning a few marshmallows with a cold beverage of your choice. The frogs croaking off in the distance. The Sparks floating up into the stars as you stare into the fire and think about that next geocache creation to build.
    Life is good! 🙂

    Scenic view
As your walking down a winding trail (on your way to a cache of coarse)
You walk down a hill you can hear the rushing water getting louder and louder, the crunchy leaves under your feet. Around the bend you come to the bottom of a massive waterfall crashing into the rocks below. The mist of the water hitting you in the face as you admire what God has created, to me that is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Noisy and peaceful at the same time!

    Ticks
    Ummm (NO)

    Lost and Found Tour
Yep, we all do it. Take the wrong path to ground zero. I do more often than not. Get tangled up in the thick brush, then it starts to move SNAKE….
you seem to get to the cache a lot quicker then even though you went the wrong way

    Food Nearby
    I sure hope so!
I’m kind of like the person in the Snickers commercial when it’s past my feeding time. With my rockin metabolism I’m like the Energizer Bunny.
    Pizza anyone…

    Teamwork Required
    There’s no I in team!
We all need to work together. It’s good to have alone time but it’s not as much fun as when your with a group of like minded friends knocking down Smileys. Bantering back and forth, taking friendly jabs at each other. I’ve met some of the best people I’ve ever known geocaching!

    ———————————–
    Life is a highway.

No wait,I’ll take the unbeaten path through the woods!

When the going gets tough the tough get going! As a carpenter I have to troubleshoot and come up with a plan of atack every time I open the back of my truck and drag my tools out. The same goes for when I put my fire gear on, as a fire Fighter and Emergency Medical Responder things can go south in a heartbeat. You need to act. (Not React). We all work together to save a life or property.
A car can’t go down the road on 3 wheels now can it! Same with a Board of Directors, all involved need to work together. If one person has an idea that the others don’t necessarily agree with it may trigger another to come up with a better one. Let’s face it, you can plan an event till your blue in the face but if someone drops the ball or something is forgotten you need to come up with a quick fix.

What can I bring to the party?

I’m a go getter, I put 100% into whatever I do as much as I possibly can. I know what it’s takes to put an event together. Time, resources, planning. Just to name a few. I am also on the fundraiser committee on my Fire Department and we did a Fireman’s picnic every year. Live music, a parade, food and drinks, water fights and many other activities for the entire weekend. That event took all year to plan, unfortunately there were too many Chiefs and not enough Indians so that event doesn’t happen anymore. I honestly don’t know exactly what goes on in the squirrel cage within the WGA BOD. Only the current or past BOD members really know the answer to that. I do know that I’m ready, willing and able to do my part.

in reply to: Candidate Question | Name one attribute. Only one. #2045921

    Creativity
The ability to come up with new ideas make events fun for everyone, if you keep doing the same thing you’ll end up with the same result. Sometimes that’s a good thing and sometimes you’ll need to change it up a bit. Come up with new fundraising ideas.
