How’s the hiking in Parfrey’s Glen since the boardwalk washed out?

It was fun. You have to cross the stream a couple of times – but makes for a fun adventure. Parfrey’s Glen defines nature’s beauty. Like my daughter said, “you just don’t expect to see that in Wisconsin.”

Gah! I’ve never gotten to go there! I stopped once after hiking at Devil’s Lake and the sign said no dogs and Coco was already in the car with me. I couldn’t just leave her! What’s the best season to go?

Either now – as the stream is running well – or in the fall when the leaves are falling – these are two of my personal favorite times to hike Parfey’s – but then again is there any bad time? It is truly paradise!

What a wonderful early Mother’s Day day Saturday. Madison Farmer’s Market and then a hike in Parfrey’s Glen (my favorite place in Wisconsin) – where we saw a beautiful bluebird! Followed that up by a hike up and down the west and east bluffs at Devil’s Lake and my quads are feeling it today. Then back home on the motorcycles. Happy mother’s day to all!

Granddaughter work up with a rash from head to toe. Doctor’s appointment confirmed she has Roseola. It sounds fairly harmless. It is viral and just had to run its’ course. Glad that we know what was going on.

amita17’s dad passed away yesterday. His obit is in the Post Crescent.

                I absolutely love hummingbirds…

Granddaughter is back to running a temperature today…it was up to 102 again. They just don’t know what is up. Sigh…praying they get it figured out. New parents – kind of scary. Gwyn – what you posted is true – I have heard that from a number of people….so it is good news to know. Just wish she would kick the temperature….

LN, how is your granddaughter doing?

She is doing better. They have determined the seizure was due to a spike in temperature. She was quite tired yesterday. They just have to monitor her temperature closely. No neurological damage. It was scary.

We just did a test run of our night cache for the campout. All systems go, so count us in!

Are these your own personal systems….like the digestive system, etc.?

Recall? Finally, the scandal my wife was hoping for!

I have a photo which could be quite incriminating…just saying..

Becket is doing very well. He’s our new cat.

Tonight I noticed that the cache page now has an icon to message the CO rather than go into their profile. I’d rather they’d spent the time on programing to add the county.

And here I thought I was the only one who did not get consulted.

                            Going for a bike ride.

My granddaughter is in the ER. Please pray.

I just received chocolate in today’s mail (from Georgia – as in the country) and a bottle of wine and a Georgian cookbook. I love my job. Does anyone want to host a lovely Georgian girl this next school year?

There is such a thing as too much chocolate. :- (

                              Absolutely not!

Oh my…things are not good here in the Fox Valley tonight. A shooting in the trestle bridge area by Fritse Park…..with rumors of up to four dead and six injured. Sounds like two shooters….a bit close to home….

We’re going to a wedding in less than two weeks in Appleton (during the campout). The couple that were shot were both going to stand up in the wedding; she was going to be a bridesmaid and he was to be the best man. So very sad.

It is so sad in so many ways…..I just do not understand what motivates someone to do something like this…..

So sad….a father and his 11-year old daughter. Mother shot 3 times, in critical condition….but got her other two children to safety. Praying hard….
