I am not sure if the question refers to favorite cache type such as traditional, mystery, multi, etc. or favorite cache type such as park & grab, hike, gadget, challenge, geo-art, etc.

I will answer both. I love a well put together and crafted mystery cache – a puzzle that needs to be solved. I enjoy it when it is challenging and makes me think outside of the box. I very much dislike the type of puzzle cacher where there seems to be no order and/or logic. After the solve, if the actual hide is themed to the content of the puzzle cache, this will be a no-brainer favorite point! In other words, it doesn’t get much better!

Answering the second part, my favorite is a challenge cache; again, a well crafted challenge. I am currently working on one where you need to find a mystery cache on every calendar day of the year (not the same year). It has been so much fun, and while I am looking forward to completing this challenge, I shall also miss it. This has probably been my favorite challenge cache yet!

I would agree with your statement that this website, while functional, tends not to be well utilitzed by the WGA membership. Having launched the Lonely Cache Game – WGA Facebook group a year ago – I feel this has been a fairly successful platform. It allows for easy posting of geocaching chit chat, photos and an easy method for commenting.  This has helped the cause of the LCG immensely – making it a fun place where cachers enjoy posting and also a place where newer cachers, unfamiliar with the LCG, have been able to reach out and ask questions. I think having Facebook Groups such as the LCG group for other aspects of the WGA would be very beneficial (such as Cache of the Month, Photo of the Month, etc.). Key to this is having a member of the WGA, passionate about the topic, actively involved and promotiing it, keeping the content fresh. I would be interested in hearing feedback from other members of the WGA.

I absolutely loved having the campout in the fall as opposed to the spring.  The weather is so much more cooperative.  I would love to see the picnic be in the spring and the campout in the fall in the future!

Thank you to all the BOD members who worked tirelessly to put the events on!  You are greatly appreciated.

We have a great WGA – and anytime we can support it – we should.  I think it is important that the WGA be supported on several different levels.

We can support the WGA financially by purchasing clothing (I personally am sporting an awesome new zip-up sweatshirt that I love!) and other WGA items (lanyards, cachekinz, etc.)

We can support the WGA by purchasing path tags and putting the WGA log on the back!  How easy is that!

We can also support the WGA by participating in the different events they sponsor during the year (all mentioned in a post above).  More travel bugs in the WGA race means more cachers participating in a WGA event.  Hopefully, these geocachers (especially those newer to the sport) will be exposed to these other WGA events as a result of being a part of the WGA TB Race and will attend some of those events – especially the Fall WGA Picnic which is always well organized!

We can support the WGA by volunteering to help with the events sponsored by the WGA.  Volunteering makes any organization better and stronger.

We can support the WGA by running for the Board (elections take place every January) and if that is not your thing, find a place in the WGA that is and volunteer!

Like bennycams and so many others, I love travel bugs!  I look forward to the WGA Race each year.  Sometimes I do well and sometimes I don’t do well.  But I always have fun and I always talk BIG about everyone else taking second place.

Once the WGA TB launches – I encourage everyone to get to know their competitors – so that you expand your geocaching circle of friends.  Let’s cheer each other on – and let’s have some trash talking too!

I would be up for an Escape Room.  Did one in Madison and it was a blast.

Awesome news indeed.  This is a great day!  Thanks to those stepping off and best wishes to those coming on board!  Looking forward to see what this new board comes up with to continue the great legacy left from those who served before – not just those from this past term – but all who have served since the creation of the WGA.

I am not sure what has been more rewarding – find all of the state park WGA caches myself or watching BigJim’s journey to find them all!  That is an interesting route to Rochester!

Wives should never believe their husbands when they say they don’t ever go in their tackle boxes. Caught Mr. Evil red handed this morning down at the pier with my Mepps on his pole.

    WHAT?  Off with his head.

Good for You Mr. Greenthumb! I have had more physical exercise picking 8 quarts of raspberries today. I think they are coming out of my ears now.

Could you post a photo of that?  That must be an interesting site.

    Way to go MGT!  Nice!

My name is Kathy aka scooter2010. I started geocaching in the fall of 2010, and I’ve known about the WGA for a long time. After attending a WGA chili event in January of 2016, I saw how much fun the WGA members were having. I was invited to sit at a table and I had a great time listening to everyone while also learning new caching tips. I decided it was time to up my game, so I am finally joining so that I can be a part of this great Wisconsin community and all that the WGA website has to offer. I love geocaching and I am looking forward to meeting more geocachers!

    Welcome.  Where are you located?

The return of Jolly Good is a Jolly Good thing.

Grape, followed closely by cream soda.  Thank you!  Can’t wait.

Furry, raslas dropped your TB for you there since the cacher wasn’t a premium member. Thanks for taking the extra step to keep things in the daylight! The CO emailed right away saying they thought it was dropped in the wrong cache. Lois asked them to check, all is good!

Hmm….do I need to be nervous?
