Hi Becca- now is a good time to pick up any of the quality GPS units in the Garmin Oregon series.
The 450 and 550 (has a camera built in) Oregon’s are being discontinued and are getting sold at great prices right now. These units have been highly stable, good handheld units for years.
I just purchased the Oregon 600 after having the 400/450 for years. The old unit helped get me around 5500 finds and I never had an issue with it.
What was the name of that GPS you had pre-Garmin?

Please take pictures! This was truly one of my favorite series of all times. Kim and I did it on a winter day when the snow was falling and it was just BEAUTIFUL. I will be in Wauwatosa Saturday….tempted to do it again!

PARTICIPATION. I have a really good idea on how to promote this, but am waiting for the new BOD to be in place.
I hope you get elected or we will never see the good idea!

It’s a VeeDub which means it is almost a Porsche. It’s already in my collection now along with my other Porsche- wait that’s a police car. I got confused since it said 911 on it.
I’m from Indiana, sorry.
(anyone get it?)
I don’t get it.

It means if you activate the tag on your car and make it collectable the first person to discover it can have your car.
What kind of car do you have?

I’m on the Board! One move 4000 miles.
Lacknothign should get an award for most miles total for moving trackables in the race.
I like the way you think! Passing through Europe again next month…. 8) Help finance our trip by hiring us to take your trackables! Moving trackables, one bug at a time.

I just checked and we have given out 72% of our available points. Basically, if we like a cache, it gets a favorite point. We really use favorites to decide what caches to seek on trips, so I appreciate you all being serious about awarding them. Based on some of the caches I found in Vegas, I think people out there award points based on how drunk they are when the find the cache.
I am guessing there is a lot of drunkedness….so that could be interesting…

We are stingy I guess. We have given out 396 favorite points and have 741 sitting in our bank. I have a pretty high standard for giving out favorites….but give me a nice hike with a few challenges along the way and you can bet that will get a favorite. I think we would have less banked if we actually took the time to backtrack to caches we found before they began giving favorite points….I think part of why I am so stingy is that I pay attention to caches with favorite points, especially when traveling. I have had it a couple of times where I did a cache with a lot of favorite points only to walk away and wonder why….
