Congratulations Jim. That is an awesome milestone. Had fun doing a few of those trekking in the snow with you this past winter.

The list of available state parks is getting pretty small. Please consider becoming a Trail Boss.
About 17 parks are unspoken for, can you pick up one?
For Historical significant parks such as Azatlan, we have a contact within the WDNR than will work with us to provide a secure and safe geocache location within the park.
Which are left?

Very sad…..it could have been any of us. The article said inattentive driving was a contributing factor. A reminder to us all to pay attention….

The BOD has been talking about putting out a challenge cache. We just haven’t been able to decide what the challenge and/or prize should be. Thoughts?
I would be happy with any form of dark chocolate. 🙂

After a DNF, my finds topped out at What the CLUCK! Totally forgot to check what number I was at before starting today.
I knew it! I just love that cache. One of my all time favorites. Congrats to you!

Park stickers are a GREAT investment. We have one for every vehicle. You pay full price for the first one and then half price for all of the others. We even have them on our motorcycles. It only cost us $62.50 and I know we have gotten our money’s worth out of that investment and more!

Has anyone been there lately? I am going be going in the next few weeks. How long is the trail, hiking boots, or anything else I need to take. Also how many caches?
ThanksI was up there a couple of weeks ago and hiked one section. That took us a good three hours. I think it takes 5-6 hours to hike the entire thing. In some places there are defined trails; in other places you are following an overgrown logging road. It is pretty easy to navigate though. There are signs with trail maps at various locations so you can take a look and get a feel for where you are going. Hiking boots and plenty of water and probably a snack. And yes, there are bears….we saw one. So make sure you make plenty of noise as you are hiking. Beautiful area and you will enjoy immensely. PM if you want any other information.

Most of this week will be enjoyed stalking our grandkids on FB now that they are back in school. First day of kindergarten for Ryan, first day of HS for Evan and first time driving to HS for Emma.

It’s no secret that I thought the whole 31 days thing was stupid and watered down the coolness of souvenirs. Besides for me to have done this would have cost me about $80 in gasoline; I’m not in a cache dense area.
Assuming I found every cache on the first attempt, doing the closest caches to me would have me driving 418 miles (round trip) and burning about 21 gallons of gas….not worth it to chase down watered down icons.
Less than $3 a souvenir – a steal or maybe not!
