Way to go John and Kim! Congrats 1600 times over. Hawaii is an awesome place and if you are really going there for #2000, let me know as I will send a care package for my daughter!

I have an iPhone and use the geocaching app. You can set your logs to save as a fieldnotes. When you get home, you can then access your fieldnotes on geocaching.com and add your comments and then submit. That way the CO gets your entire comments. As stated earlier, if you log a TFTC from the field and then edit later, the CO doesn’t get notification of the additional comments.

I remember this day well. It was a Tuesday and I was just about to leave a meeting at the church on the corner of Commercial, Tayco, Nicolet and Washington in Menasha (St. Thomas). I was standing in the office talking with the secretary when she received a phone call.
Would you believe that I have never actually seen any video of the planes crashing into the twin towers? I never felt that I wanted to see that happening over and over and over again. Just the fact that it had happened and that so many had died, struck deep with me.

I am going to start writing for my logs:
Lacknothing lacked nothing on August 25 at 9:21 a.m.

That’s a lot of the same number! Congratulations. Well done in that it brought Dave out of hiding….

What would be really tacky is if you were the FTF on your own cache!

Who’s Tom?

You all have WAY too much time on your hands! 8 pages of thread in less than a day. Not bad.
As for the challenge caches, they look a bit lame to me. Maybe I’ll do a challenge cache where you have to take a picture on the roof of Muggle B’s house! Now that would be fun! Probably needs to be a public place though….

Definitely more fun to wait to do the caches until the event actually begins. I do not understand the purpose or running around in the middle of the night (actually wee hours of the morning) and chasing FTF’s when the event did not officially begin until noon on Friday. Thanks for waiting on the new caches. It seems like there were only a few who felt they needed to be searching the event caches at 1 in the morning….I think that was tacky.

Do you think Perry? Hmmmm….I would much rather think that behind every good man (that would be you), there’s an even better woman (that would be Steph). 😕 😕 😮

That was funny gotta run. Sorry….I have to laugh. Since it always seems to be the same cachers who write the same lame logs – TTFC – or write about how great they are rather than the cache, I am often tempted when I do one of the caches they have hidden, just to copy and paste their stock log. Thought that might be cheesy though. I always try to write something even if it is a P&G and even if we have done many in one day. I really dislike copy and pastes.

Looks like it was an awesome experience. Love eagles. I actually thought way back, for whatever reason, that a huffinpuffin was a penguin. Boy did I get laughed at when I asked. I now know that it’s a bird! And a pretty creative bird at that!

Congratulations Brian. That was a fun cache. We also road bikes to that one. A great #900 (and also #555 for traditionals). 1000 is right around the corner – can’t wait to see what you choose.

08/02/2011 at 3:40 am in reply to: RJ McKenzie reaches #5000 with Oconto County – High Point #1951026Congratulations Ryan! And to think I knew you back in the day when you were ToyotaRyan….I will never forget my first encounter with you…you were trying to grab that FTF out at Bubolz….hiding in the woods….
Bet there are a lot of good memories in 5000 finds. Keep on caching!
