Would definitely be interested if there was a place to rent one. We just purchased a Harley and that coupled with our sailboat – well….needless to say, purchasing an ATV is not in the budget if you know what I mean.

Welcome! You are from the land of Lancelot. How fun. There are many fun caches up your way. Planning to be up that way doing a few tomorrow. Will look forward to seeing your names on a few of the logs perhaps.

Gloves – for any season. I hate reaching into places without my gloves one…yuck! One of those handy dandy mirrors on the bendy arm is helpful too for lookin under hard to see places…..such as…well…can’t say…love my needle nose pliers also…

That is a completely awesome accomplishment and one we hope to hit some day. We are at 30 state right now. Way to go. 50 states means a lot of miles covered. And yes, I bet there are a lot of neat things, places, etc. in 49 of the 50 states (Illinois excluded). Congrats!

And yes CJ – I am wondering what for the next milestone….ATV or something like that…maybe a horse…now that would be fun! Can’t wait.

Wow – 1K – Congratulations to both of you. It has been a blast to search out many of those caches with at least one member of the Hack1of2 team. Favorite memories include that bridge hide in Waukesha and of course, the ditch incident in Kettle Morrain – not to mention the “tree house” and the “frames” for the tents. Here is to many more finds, many more pictures and enough cheese stops along the way. Congrats again!

A lot of good points made in this thread. We try never to just write TFTC. I have an iPhone that I will use and I set it so that I can log the find and send it to my field notes and compose a nice log when I am home at my computer. Even on a park and grab, I try to include something interesting about the weather or what’s around us. TFTC, by itself, to me is just not acceptable.
I think what is really getting under my skin recently though, is geocachers who chase FTF’s and then write in their logs about themselves, rather than the cache. This is just not acceptable. Have seen this happen most recently in Merc’s new Over, Under, Around and Through caches. We have done a couple and they are worth writing about. They are an adventure. So the log that says “found it in 10 minutes and grabbed the co-ftf” upsets me. Nothing about the actual quality of the cache. That bums me out.
My two cents worth….
