it’s funny you mention being jacked on caffine… I don’t drink soda and chocolate gives me the scoots, but I love Red Bull and Red Bull-esque drinks. In association with my Red Bull addiction, I was considering placing a Series of Caches in the SE Minnesota area this spring with a Motley Crue theme. Each one would be named after a Crue song and there would be a reason:
Girls,Girls,Girls– A girl themed cache
Kick Start my Heart– A cache where the physical difficulty would require defibulation panels at the end.
Shout at the Devil– A cache so mentally challenging, that the finder would be describing yours truely as EVIL!
etc
See… I’m totally addicted to something other than Red Bull…. Caching Rules!
Woooo Hooooo!!! 1000! Outstanding job Robin!
Quote of the day: I want more Bling
* lagrac The Rushford Minnesota Caching MonkeyThanks for the information Mr. Rod. I just put my order in for a 8mB flash drive. That drive as well as some burned CD should keep me relitively safe, but I am a cacher so I don’t want to be too safe.
Went caching in Rochester last weekend. I too found this new river flowing down the middle of a trail. Funny, there wasn’t a river there before. I’m known for wearing shorts when I cache when it isn’t necessarily a good idea to be wearing them (ie too cold, nettles, etc). Made for a chilly day.
Quick Question:
As you can see I’m just a WGA friend. Can I still attend your shin dig?My desktop runs MS XP while my new lap top runs Vista. The cable, as I understand it, allows you to transfer data from XP to Vista. I’d like to transfer my GSAK with reregistering it as well as a few other GPS programmes I have on my computer at the house. I’m not sure if my laptop is compatible though. They mention the need for a Pentium Processor on the laptop side, mine is AMD.
If you make it March 18th… you can count me in. Those have made me so frustrated, especially that one near the airport.
The similarity is in the initials only, unless you are the one that planted that cache between Wabasha and Hayfield in that community dump next to the rotting deer carcass? 🙂
Zuma’s experience here describes my Minnesota problem to a T. People often ask me, “Hey Brett… you live in Minnesota, yet you cache in Wisconsin all the time, what’s up with that?” Well up till the point that I read Ralph’s caching story it could be summed up with two letters
KB
But now I seem to have another reason.I’d also like to share a couple of my favourite KB lines if I may, and please allow my to paraphrase:
KB “….Well, how often are the coordinates right on anyways?”
(relating to my DNF of a Virt at the Earl Brown Herritage Center)“…. I didn’t know that it was our job to encourage people to cache.”
(relating to his publishing of a cache listing with no description at all of that cache, just a blank page. (I must mention that after seeing that listing, I tried to submit it as COTM based of the ‘Great Amount of Planning and Effort’ that went into it. What ingenious camoflage, a cache made to look like garbage, why didn’t I ever think of that? 🙂hey there Gusty Winds… I love the idea, but may I modify it just a little? How about doing it at night. Caching at night is awesome. If you haven’t tried it yet, give it a shot!
p.s. No micros 😈
I’ll be in Lacrosse Sunday doing some caching. I’ll try to scope out some places for a bumch of cachgers to get together. After the Event in Winona, we all just met at Perkins…. just an idea.
March 11th sounds good. I’d like to set up something kind of informal to see what kind of turn out we’d get, then think about getting a shelter in the spring. What about a place? Something not too smoky maybe? 😥
I’ve got plenty of caching containers just begging to be placed. I did the same thing before the Event I hosted in Winona. I placed three caches and didn’t submit them for approval till after the Event. That chance for a FTF gets alot of peoples attention.
I don’t really know the Lacrosse/Onalaska area that well, outside of places where I’ve cached. I’ve attended Events in Rochester and I’ve met some of the nicest people. I think it’d be nice to get together and put some names with faces. Maybe on a Saturday evening pretty soon. I’ll set up the caching page and everything. Just let me know where the most cacher friendly place would be to meet.
p.s. Where does one have to park to access ‘The Island’ cache over by West Salem?
You can count me in!!
