I will have a station at the West Bend Cache Bash for people to leave a note or small memorabilia for Mr. Greenthumb’s family that will be placed in an ammo can and given to them at his memorial ceremony on August 19th. You can drop off an item you wish to contribute that day, make a note at the bash or mail to me and I will place it in the ammo can for you. Just PM me for my address. He will be missed…
Well I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s interested. Since geocaching is a huge part of my life it only makes sense to start to try to find someone that enjoys it as well. We just need to get some guys over here on the board LOL. Maybe I’ll post something in the general Farms and see if that would drop peoples or attention over here. Do you ladies think anyone would be interested in something like a Geocaching mixer? I thought about having it where one person would get half of the coordinates another person would get the other half, and then when they find the two that go together based on a sheet they get, they could go find the cache together. What do you think?
Thanks to all who responded!
One more relating to this to make you twist yer brain. Can the final for the multi be closer than 500 feet to another separate cache? 🙄
I did not realize I was going to make you all scratch your head a little, but thanks for the smiles and answers. 😆
Bummed there are no new pathtag designs in the works… 🙁
I would be interested if you could send me a pic. Thanks!
Well, I guess you can tell I have never done a poll on here before 😯 I was just curious since our county has a large fairgrounds with camping if this is something we could ask the Chamber to consider in the future. I did hear that hotels and campgrounds were filled this year, that is why I asked. I personally think it would be fun, because it would continue the social aspect of it. I was just curious, this would be – of course – the Chamber’s decision anyways. 😀

Ah yes, my goodie bag didn’t contain a swimming coupon, which my kids were disappointed about. But I just asked around and there were plenty of people not using theirs so I got one anyway. And regarding swimming, the coupon says that it’s good for all weekend and yet they take your coupon when they give you a daily writstband so then you need another coupon. So again, on Saturday I just asked around and found someone that wasn’t using their coupon for swimming.
This is what I love to hear – these “behind the scenes” types of problems that I would not have known about since my kids are older. I will definitely have this addressed and perhaps we can work out some sort of wrist band for next year.
I just got back from there as well. I totally agree that Cash at the falls is a must do, absolutely stunning. Bring your camera looks just like the Wisconsin Dells.

One last thing, the winner of the $250 price this year was KM Snoop’s daughter. KM is not on our committee. He was Geocaching with the family of someone who is on our committee however.
Really? Hm, looked like an Ecorangers went up for the photo.
Yeah they were caching together as a team. Ecorangers did not win anything.
Again as I said its “appearance.”
Barb & Mike have two boys, you said it was his daughter who won….
I misspoke, sorry, KM Snoop who is Mike Chern One the $250 and his name is on the check. The child who picked up the check is Tami’s daughter, Mike was being nice to let the kid in the group go up and get the prize. I don’t know Tait, I havent seen her in years so I did not know that was her. I just assumed it was Mike’s daughter.

I don’t have the time to address everything today, but just so you know the volunteers on the committee go to monthly meetings. In addition, We pay for and by all our own cache containers, camo tape, and even some of the swag. The hiders then have to scope out their locations with their own gas, like Goldie driving numerous times from Menomonee Falls all the way to the northern part of West Bend. People like me also taking a half hour off work to get to these meetings too. Our compensation? One Geocoin. We do this out of love for our community and fellow cachers and some notoriety for placing a really great cache that people enjoy talking about it we enjoy hearing about. I have never entered my ticket in, but I’m also registered as an attendee at this event andI believe personally that if a committee member would win, it’s only fair payback for all the time, effort and expense they have put into placing their caches in the past year for all to enjoy.
I truly appreciate all the feedback, and really want to clarify misconceptions about things as they are brought up. Please continue to give me your feedback and comments so that I can take them to the chamber for our planning sessions for next year. 🙂

LDove, I like your Lucky Seven idea. Or how about a “Magnificent Seven” Western theme? You could have a lot of fun with the cowboy/bandits theme.
. Great!!! I like that too! If I can get Craig to go with the theme for next year and convince him, would you be able to help me with setting up the cache page? I’d like to be able to have it looking kind of different and theme related. Some cachers on the other boards are wanting to see an Indiana Jones theme – which I think would also be really fun. “Raiders of the lost cache” ????
