The first event submitted was for Sunday, 8/17/08 and it was submitted correct on dates, etc.. and has been approved now. Thank you! This was originally listed on the main cache page to get the word out about the weekend until we had all the “details” worked out, then we intended to make them separate events once we figured out the logistics of it all. Yep, I screwed up on the Friday event and did not put the time for the event and the date was messed up (me bad) 😳 😛 . Fixed and has now been approved so we are good to go for two more events for the weekend! 😀 Hope to see you all there! GC1CDGQ, and GC1CDJ6.
Another update:
The THINK, DRINK AND COIN CLINK, will be held on 8/15/08 from 7-11 p.m. This will be a meet and greet at Muggles Tavern (N43 25.337 W088 10.936) to strategize about the next day’s event and exchange coins or pathtags. Located in Muggle’s Bar (isn’t that fun!), come and enjoy some drinks and fun with fellow cachers. Plan out your strategy for the next day’s event. Which teams you will go with? Will you be sharing a car to avoid traffic jams? This will be another event for you to log for the weekend with another attended log (this was the approved way to do this per the geocaching.com reviewers). There is even a permanent cache located right across the street! This is located in the heart of downtown West Bend where there are plenty of nice restaurants nearby to enjoy an evening meal out as well. Muggle’s also sells glasses and other nice items with the “MUGGLES” logo on them for fun and for souveniers. 😀Oooooh Sammy your team in this too? Think you can beat team ZigZagNuts do ya? 😈 BRING IT! We are going to “shake” things up so watch out! 😉 (SNICKERing)
We are going to leave ’em in our cocopuff tracks! 😈 Thanks Jeremy! You are officially team member #4 now you need to pm me or address so I can submit it on the registration form.
I will be like Beavis – ayyeyyeyyeeee! 😯 😯 😛
YES! LB7 – a hard-core cacher going for the CHOCOLATE – yee ha! 😀 Okay one more… Oh and let’s stop for strong caffeinated beverages on the way there so we can run, run, run on our sugar/caffeine high! 😛
Myself and another cacher are looking for 2 more to join us for this event, even though it is not loggable – IT IS CHOCOLATE PEOPLE! 😯 The guy who answered the phone said the top prizes in chocolate and other stuff is valued at around $400!!! 😛 Anybody want to join us? Need two more ASAP!
😯 mmmmm chocolate… I wanna go!
Just a few updates. The attendees are rolling in, but if you are on the fence about coming, be sure to get your attended log in soon. We are cutting off the date for the registration right now at 7/31/08, and may move that date up due to printing issues with the booklets. This would only be for the large cash prizes, anybody can come if they wish of course for the event and smaller prizes. We are already nearing 50 cache locations (poor reviewers 😉 ) and believe it or not, have more than we probably need 😯 soooo – MORE SPOTS FOR NEXT YEAR! 😛 We have a nice assortment of both urban and park caches from micros to 13 (don’t faint) ammo cans 😮 (which we may get more of since many of the hides are med to large size). We also updated the flash mob event for Sunday, see the cache page for more details. Still looking for a meet and greet for Friday – we are waiting to see how large this gets. Hope to see you there – and also more VIP’s from the board!
Ooops forgot to add, be sure to bring your swag along as many of these caches will have goodies in them to trade!
🙁 Aw, your poor geodogs! Hope they are better soon. I guess I never thought about it, I was always more worried about tics or something, never even considered a porcupine or skunk. Thanks for the warning, my geodog and I will definitely be more careful!

I’m assuming for temp caches, but one of the big arguments of temp-cache-logging-detractors is that “they don’t have meet published cache guidelines.” Do CITO temp caches have to? If not, again it is an issue of consistency.
To play the devils advocate here, if temps were recognized, how do you regulate them? What would stop someone from sitting at a table and say there are 5 caches right here for you to log. Or better yet, just trade spreadsheets of caches the way people do coin discoveries.
Don’t get me wrong – I think people should be able to log temps since Groundspeak hasn’t taken a stand. (There certainly are enough rules for everything else) But the solution might not be as simple was it appears.
Just my 2 cents, but if someone DID do that – sit at a table and trade a spreadsheet around, whom exactly would it hurt? ❓ I don’t care one way or the other at this point, it is just a hobby with no “winner” at the end. Since your numbers are for you, why does it have to be regulated? If my profile says I got 900 or 900 with 25 attended logs does anybody really care?(well except Criminal). Just subtract my attends from my finds and you will get an aproximate number if you really want to know how many I have found. For now I feel, play it how ya want until Groundspeak steps up to the plate and makes a decision.
I can say from recent experience if you make all hides permanent for an event – you got some work cut out for you AND the reviewers (sorry reviewer people – lately) 😉 So I think big events will probably downscale the hides, it is a lot of work for both the hiders and the reviewers.
yeah, but 200 puzzles – wow! 😛 😯 On my first two pages, I only have puzzles left to do up there. I REALLY have to learn to do them better. Too bad I missed your class Marc! Appleton rocks too on caches, great hides and a nice place to visit. 😀
😀 YAY! That is very cool! Thanks for mentioning it! 😀
I guess some people have their dogs registered, seriously! One person on the forum even considered registering as a dead guy for a cache he wants to do. 😯
Nice job! Wish I was going so I could get a shirt! 😀
