Oh man, can I relate some stories. If it is going to happen, it happens to me. Here are just two examples.

I have to edit this log. When this originally happened, I was too embarrassed to print it. Now that a little time has gone by and I can laugh about it and since I have been printing my logs, I will share my adventure. So I get to your cache and decide that in the cold .25 is too far to walk in. The weather has frozen everything so I will just drive the car up the side of the field. Get to what LOOKS like a cute, very small brook with a little ice. Car can make that – NOT!!! Car got massively stuck and in the cold had to call a 30 ton wrecker to get me out! If I would have sunk another 2 inches, car would have had creek running through it! MY NEW CAR! Tow truck driver got there and found me cold, with a runny nose and a bit teary. I think he felt sorry for me but told me, “when you are out hikin’, yer supposed ta walk!” doh… After a he told me he hauled someone else outa there for 250 bucks I started to get a few more frozen ice cubes outa my eyes and I think he felt sorry for me and said “aw just give me 90 bucks.” So 90 bucks later I had a new, old Star Wars VCR tape from the cache and another adventure to chalk up for lonesumdove’s misadventures in geocaching.GCPFBR

Hinges on excitement – you are not kidding!!! We started out on the wrong side of the tracks, the coordinates are not correct for the parking. As I was walking up the hill my husband screamed at me – I thought maybe a train was coming. Noooo – I was standing on a downed power line!! I AM NOT KIDDING! While contemplating where the nearest store was to go get a new pair of shorts, we carefully retreated and went to the correct street to the east. The walk in to the park was nice, but having my nerves somewhat rattled at this point we could not find the first waypoint. You may want to change your parking coordinates to the following which we got for you:
N43 03.803 W088 05.727 We saw in a prior log that someone else made this same mistake, I would not want anyone to do what I did. We callwed WE Energies when we got home and the line is owned by the railroad, they don’t know if they are live wires or not (probably not since I am not geocaching with the angels) , but we would not want anyone to take any chances just in case. Just chalk it up to another lonesumdove misadventures in geocaching.I know of several bike trails here where the terrain and views change as you mosey on along. I would be thrilled if there were MORE caches on bike trails as it would get my rear-end out there and my bike out of the spiderwebs in the basement to go find them. I personally also think that if it follows the cache placement guidelines, they should be allowed, and not be rejected because the approver may not find it enjoyable to them personally. We all like different things, that is why geocaching is fun. I would much rather be on my bike seeing different parts of a trail/park, than finding another guardrail cache where I simply hop out of my car and sign the log, yawn… (sorry to all the guardrail lovers 😉 ) Continue to spread the fun, let them place their caches! 😀
That is an awesome coin! How did I miss that it was being produced, guess I should check these boards more often. Would have loved to get my name on there too. 🙁 Oh well. If you can’t order me one, I could swap one of my WGA lighthouse coins for one…. 😀
Oh yea, one more container we found is pretty good are the large size snack containers with the handles that you can buy at Fleet Farm. We just make sure to get all the good food scents out before we use them. They have a white screw on lid and seem to keep things dry and are easy to get in and out of.
They are really hard to open in my experience. Not always having the benefit of dragging Mr. MagOO along with me, I have sometimes given up when unable to open them. 😕
Here is an alternative that I just recently found. I went to St. Vinny’s and bought a already camo colored Thermos bottle – plastic. They are made to hold liquids in and have quite a good seal to prevent moisture – works great! Space inside is a bit more limited due to the cap, but hey it is still bigger than a micro. Just be sure to get one that does not have the glass inside. 😉
Okay, I can sing it better in my head if you list the first five up to now… I love “six goose turds…” since I have been stepping and dogdging them all over the place lately. 😆
So – let’s hear it from the beginning from da boys in da band,
On the first day of…
I like FIVE golden geocoins! I would not want someone to give me 5 pocket queries – but I sure would like 5 geocoins!
🙁 Sorry to be dumb, but I have NO Idea. I don’t even know how to check for that. The odd thing is, I will get one log a day and the rest just don’t show up. I set up my notifications to go through my Hotmail account and as usual last night my mailbox was full of fun logs to read. I waited on hold with charter for 20 minutes yesterday. I think if I can figure out how to transfer the PQ’s from Hotmail to Gsak, I am just going to do that from now on.
😯 Four sticking burrs (since these seem to find me winter, spring, summer or all) 🙄
We stopped in Cozumel on our cruise and did this one GCTGGQ. If you click on “find all caches near this location” you will see Cozumel has quite a few. These caches also right now have some pretty neat coins in them. We also did a couple on our last trip to Mexico, but cruise ships don’t go where we went. Cozumel is a pretty safe bet, most ships dock there during a Caribbean cruise. Have fun! 😀
Hey Lil Otter –
I did not do the cache either – I only skimmed through the logs and was sure it was a difficult cache – the terrain there is quite difficult so it did not surprise me. I even was very concerned about the person who supposedly got very injured. Why not leave the cache there? People would still have fun writing stories, etc… about their adventures. I have a fantasy cache in West Bend – have a great time reading the fantasy finds that people post. When we were in the Dells, we noticed there were not as many caches as we had hoped so I hope that you reconsider and then I can come out and git er done on our next trip to that area.
Oh yea and thanks for the clue about the encrypted log – sheesh – 🙄 😳 I am really bad at solving things like that. To top it off I am reading Digital Fortress by Dan Brown which is all about decrypting writing.

I loved kbraband’s encrypted log from 4/16/05 🙂
😳 😳 scratching head…. what is in the encrypted log? I need help here, don’t get it. I read it, read it, still don’t get it??? The cache is archived so WHAT WAS the encrypted log? ❓ ❓ ❓ 😕 (feeling dumb… 🙄 )
No tics or mosquitos either! I cached all winter last year, but this year looks to be a bit more challenging with the new snow. Makes me rethink my hides – will make them more winter friendly in the future if possible. 😀
I signed up for mine and will have two kids I know who have diabetes follow it. I hope that I get one… 😀
😀 I love the idea, a wedge of cheese shape would be nice! I like the micro idea too.
