Oh and I forgot to mention, I TOTALLY agree with the nametags. I felt I was wandering in a sea of people whom I should know but had no idea who they were! I thought of this last year and it was one thing we missed again! We won’t forget again next year, I promise! 😀
The Chamber director did announce the geogolf coordinates.
I personally read every single log that comes out and my eyeballs feel like they are gonna start bleeding! 😯 I value every single one and use that information to improve my hides for the next year.
We can’t control every cache in West Bend. If some are not maintained, it is up to the last cacher there to post a needs maintenance log just like you would anywhere else and someone would get out there and fix it. I personally went out and added new logs to most of my own caches and also stuffed a couple hundred log bags and asked cachers to replace full ones if they found them. I don’t know if there is more we can do on that.
The downloads were announced to start at noon and they did. We had all cachers out of the line by 1:03. Some people chose to line up sooner and it probably felt longer in the heat and humidity and we do appreciate your patience. Unfortunately, anyone who works with computers knows glitches happen. This was a service provided by the WGA and people who volunteered their computers for the day, we appreciate them being there and helping and not letting people have to hand load 67 new caches on their own!
As far as having more to do at the event venue suggestions please! We had geogolf, chutes and ladders, swimming, a Whereigo cache, vendors, free pass to the dog park, food, drinks, cool cache container contest, WGA booth, classes, bingo, Annie’s quiz game, little cachers pennies and prizes game, secret treasure box activity, free boat rides, prize drawings AND post event party, and 60+ caches to find. Whew, I thought it was a full day 😛 , but we are looking for ways to please the masses so feel free to suggest anything you think would be something you would want. I know I am going to ask the makers of OFF to give us some goodies or a vendor booth next year and I AM NOT KIDDING! 😆
😀 So many behind the scenes people too helped out for this. Two gentlemen and I use that word on purpose, true gentlemen, saw that we were having problems with the start ups for the computers on Saturday. They walked in and offered to help without question. How awesome and I can’t even thank them here because I am not sure who they are. I think one was from team Averith? We had other volunteers also like Aunti Nae and Gr8 Eyes and Lego Lover show up to help, but downloads were going well by then and help was not needed. People came up to me and offered to take newbies out, it was just so friendly and nice – quite a wonderful showing of support! I even had one cacher offer to buy me a water – I must have been looking a bit sweaty and parched – LOL 😆 The cachers that attend this and play fairly, put the caches back correctly and follow the rules I thank too. 😀 Oh and for those that stood in line and were patient and kind, that was really nice too. It was hot and everyone was in a hurry, but almost everyone was very patient and understanding while we tried to get up and running.
I can tell you now that I have read over 1000+ e-mails on my logs, that overwhelmingly we got positive comments from people about the event. Thank you. That makes a years worth of planning and hard work, meetings, coming up with creative hides worth while. I have not gotten any yet and actually look forward to donning my new mosquito suit and getting them myself. I got a lot of positive comments about my series at Serigraph and I had as much fun thinking about it as watching the logs come in. Looking forward to seeing you all next year! 😀
Regner is a large park so I am sure you could find room for it somewhere and you might be glad you have it if it gets hot! I would toss it in the trunk just in case! Great idea! 😀
It is all taking place at Regner this year due to the great turnout! Don’t forget your chairs, stuff to trade, a large gallon size baggie for your game card, a few extra logs in case you run into a NONBASH log that is full, plenty of skeeter spray, water and your swimsuits if you want to use your free swim passes. The goodie bags are great, got mine today (benefit of being on the committee!) Lots of good stuff in there! The pavilions are now under cover so if there is rain, we still have a place to sit covered. 😀
Sigh… me too. Too busy with the Cash Bash stuff and I missed both pathtags and the coin dang it. 🙄 🙁
Good warning, but perhaps it would be safer to take the “Recipe” for this concoction off completely and simply state to be aware of bottles with liquids in them. How sad! 😥
Will do Aunti Nae! They probably have them printed already tho, do you know how many you would want?
I believe the Chamber is working with the vendor for the bash shirts to bring the shirt prices down. So people may be able to have both! 😀 Our “color” this year is orange so the bash shirts, pathtags, and other stuff will be orange. This also works out nice for our spooky themed hides for Friday the 13th – Halloweenish kinda! 😆
These look great and I plan on getting a couple! Thanks for bringing them down! 😀
Please have the members of the board meet me by the stage at 5:45. We We will assemble your group and then have Craig announce you to the event participants. I always think it is nice to put a face with a name and I am anxious to meet you all in person! 😀 I am not sure how many are coming from the WGA, but whomever is there just look for me by the stage at 5:45. I will have an event staff badge on and of course my WGA nametag. I am the tall blonde… hard to miss me!!! 😆
I don’t like rock piles either, they mess with my pretty nails. 😕 But… I have a few of my own, but I make the clue so you can find it and not mess around. I even have two for the cache bash so watch out…. 😳
I will help out in whatever time frames you need me so put me whereever!
I would also suggest Lazy Days, they are very close and may even have a couple of cache bash hides on their property. They were happy to support us and I told him that some people would be coming. You may want to mention you are with the bash and see if he is offering a discount. I can’t remember, it was last summer when I talked with them. Balks, that would definitely be closer for you than from where it sounds like you are staying.
