I’m always up for a challenge! Bec and I have specifically gone after lonely caches before. Might as well get points for it.

Tom of Geocoinshop said “My service provider said the emails were getting backed up on their end. I hope it is fixed by now.”

So yes – a little patience is all that’s needed.

I have a copy of the code list in case anyone has real problems getting them. But Tom at Geocoinshop is usually very responsive when emailed. So if you are having a problem, go to him first so that he knows there’s a problem. If for some reason that doesn’t work (like he’s on vacation or something), then email me.

    Just wanted to add this:

Plus, remember that reviewers are NOT acting on behalf of the WGA, but instead on behalf of Groundspeak (owners of geocaching.com, for those few who didn’t know). The WGA has no involvement in geocache placement review.

Quoted for truth. When you see a reviewer’s name containing “WGA-something”, it means that this person is a WGA board member. However, their duties as a reviewer are completely independent of thier duties leading the WGA. Repeat: the WGA has nothing to do with cache approval.

I seem to recall that one of the early reasons for creating the WGA was to have a resource for potentially keeping track of Wisconsin geocaches in case Groundspeak went belly-up. It may seem kind of silly today, but the situation was a bit more tenuous back then. This might be the reason for that particular wording.

All 2007 Wisconsin geocoins ordered were shipped out this morning. Thanks to all the Board members who helped get everything packaged up, including Brian G. (Should’ve Bought Him The Tie), Jennifer (LightningBugs Mum), Jeff (hotdogs_off_trail), Dave (Cheesehead Dave), and Brian J. (GrouseTales) and son.

You forgot to include yourself! Jeremy printed out all the invoices and (almost) all the labels with postage before we even started. It was a big help and made everything go very smoothly this morning.

I’m always afraid of jinxing things by making announcements too early, but since the coins are actually here now, I guess we can go ahead and say that they will get packaged up on Saturday morning and shipped either Saturday or Monday – depending on how fast it goes.

Do you have any left? I would like one or two.

Yes, I have coins left. 8)
Invoice sent for two. If you decide you only want one, just let me know.

Thanks for the compliments! It took me all summer to get the design right.

    Howdy from Fort Atkinson!

You’ll have plenty of caches to keep you busy down by Burlington.

This thread has given me a much needed giggle after watching the Dallas game!

    😯 🙁 😆 😆

The subject line made we think LB7 was having marital difficulties….

Thanks to those who have contacted me so far!

When you send me a message, please be sure to tell me specifically what email address you use for Paypal. Forgot to mention that. Thanks.

in reply to: are you deleting temp caches? #1881498

Yep, I have about 50 more to go. I’m doing them in batches – kinda like 3 steps forward, 1 step back. Makes it less painful that way. I’m doing it because I decided I would rather have my events number reflect the number of events I’ve actually attended. So they are getting changed to notes at this time.

There are 3 non-event multi caches that I will maintain with multiple finds, because each stop had it’s own log sheet and could have been a legitimate find on its own. “?” is definitely one of them (I drove about 100-120 miles round trip for each single one!). Need for Greed was another one – right Bec? We drove around Walworth County all day for those. The last is Oak-K Either Way. Walkable, but way more than 500 feet apart.

Right now, we have to reserve the extras for shipments that get lost and other unforseen maladies that may come up. Any that are left over after that will become available for sale. So please ask again once the dust settles from the primary shipping.

Also, I’m sure there are lots of people who ordered extras and would be willing to part with one.

I am thankful that I’ve never gotten seriously hurt while out geocaching in spite of some of the predicaments I’ve put myself in. 8)

I am thankful for this great forum community and the events we get to meet people at.

I am thankful for my understanding (sometimes) and healthy (usually) family.

I am thankful that dark chocolate is now considered a healthy food.

We are a bit compulsive about our milestones as well as other caches. We try and ALWAYS log them in the same order that we found them. We have driven by hundreds just to get to the one we wanted as a milestone. But, then again, we are freaks at times. 😯

I’m can be compulsive this way too. Though since I am working on deleting my temp finds over time, I just figure out how many I need to get rid of before logging so that the “magic number” occurs on the cache I want it to.

So how does that affect my previous milestones? Sure, technically they are different now. But to me the milestone cache is the one that got that “magic number” when I logged it online. That’s the cache I list on my profile page and I’m not going back and changing it.
