With 10 day left before the deadline, I am pleased to announce that your WGA board has authorized a prize for the design that is chosen:
One limited edition two-toned 2005 WI coin
Two copies of the 2007 coinNow I want to say something to everyone. The design that CinemaBoxers has posted is quite nice, but I don’t want it to intimidate people away from posting their ideas. We are looking for a CONCEPT and the more we have to choose from, the better. Like I said earlier, the art you post doesn’t have to be great as long as it conveys your thoughts adequately.
I also want to say that we very much appreciate all the work that people have done on this so far. We have some great ideas and I hope we get lots more!
Had the same issue with my 60CS. Wound up with a replacement unit from Garmin.
Just remember if you end up sending it in and have city navigator or similar locked maps, to ask garmin about getting a new unlock code. otherwise you’ll end up having to call them again because they won’t send you back the same unit you sent them.
What he said.

These irritate me the most. When I spend time looking up a hint then see it reads something like “No hint for you!”, I feel like giving the hider a swift kick for wasting my time.
The above statement is solely that of the poster and does not represent the opinion of the WGA board. 😈

😀 I’d like to invite everyone to have a piece of birthday cake with me on Friday night. There will be plenty of cake for everyone.
I’m there! 😀
Thanks for your idea, Jay Mills.
A reminder: it was mentioned in the original announcement that these coins will be trackable. Though you don’t have to put it in the rough designs at this point, a winning design without a spot for a tracking number will have to be modified to make room for it. Just something to keep in mind!
OK, we have two very nice potential designs submitted so far and lots of ideas.
Now, I guess I need to be a little clearer than I originally was (sorry). For anyone who has a coin idea but no computer graphics skill, I would recommend one of the following:
1. Find someone who can do a little computer design to come up with something more concrete to submit.
2. Scan in a sketch and post it.It doesn’t have to perfect or even that good (that’s what the coin maker artists are for), but it should be some kind of picture to be in the voting. It is just too hard to take people’s descriptions and create a poll for chosing a winner. Think t-shirt design contest.
So keep ’em coming! You have 17 days…….
That’s nice of you Jeff!
One thing I did in the past was make a replacement TB tag out of shrinky-dink stuff. A laminated card would work in a pinch too.
A star-shaped geocoin (yes, of course they exist). Good for attacks by ninjas.
After the election, I added some stuff about terrain ratings in the “Hiding a Cache” wiki. I included the handicaching info which I agree is very helpful. I wish GC.com would update their rating system as well – it is very flawed.
Two of my caches are rated there as accessible.

How bout a large metal glove on one side? 😈
OK, OK…..I’d buy that one at least.LOL – Like this?
Edit: nevermind. I can’t get the pic to work consistently.
Interesting. I had never thought of doing that. There’s some pix I hadn’t seen before… 8)
I’m thinking of doing Tunnel of Terror for my 700th.
I always log the first DNF on a cache. If I go back and still don’t find it, I may or may not log it depending on the circumstances.
I keep a non-public bookmark of caches I’ve DNFed to keep track of them.
Don’t know if anybody has gotten back to you on this, but FuFu (possibly) and I could help out with this.
When I bring a few coins to events for people to discover, I like to leave them in the event inventory instead of moving it back to my own inventory. With the number of coins I have, that list would be excruciatingly long if they were all on my page. Eventually those coins will get moved to another event.
If the event host asks, I will move them out, but that has happened only once. Usually, the hosts don’t care – it doesn’t affect their ability to archive the event.
Some people will put their coins into their own archived caches between events. But I don’t like this as it falsifies the coin’s history. If the event owner doesn’t care, then it is easiest for me to just leave them there for a while.
