Although it looks like I will only be up for the event at the end, so I probably won’t be doing many ~ I voted for all of the above. I would use the paperless stuff and hand in the single sheet, but I would also keep the book as a “keepsake”. Last year, I punched two books and handed only one in.
I have had travelers – both TBs and coins – disappear into the hands of unscrupulous cachers, and also have had the bad luck of having them in caches when they are muggled. On the other hand, I have some – all coins BTW – that have traveled far more extensively than I have. Best example is a Caught Red Handed coin currently in Australia.
I try to track them down when they go missing. Usually (but not always) an email reply from the holder is a good sign that the bug will get moving again. And usually (but not always) no reply means you should probably write it off. But never lose hope – they occasionally can turn up again.

If you were in the Minneapolis area, that could have been a Posen hide.
If I had found that in a hollow log at ground zero I would have pulled it out expecting to find a cache container in the head cavity.
It was a Leopold Legacy cache, so I knew we were looking for a big ammo can – not a skull. But I know there exist caches that would have incorporated it.

Kinda spooked me.

I have, unfortunately, encountered the impromptu outdoor toilet near a cache more than once.
The weirdest thing about my encounter with this situation is that the cache was at a rest area! Apparently a log under some trees 200 feet from the flush toilets was more comfortable for someone.
Racine County is nicely centralized and right on the I-94 corridor. Plus it seems to have the most choice for available roads.
(Personally, I would rather have Waukesha cuz it is closest to me 😉 but since I am not technically in SE WI, I don’t think my vote should really count.)

Again it sounds like Geocachers area getting singled out. Geez, when will it end?
I wonder if they charge park visitors to use the barbecue pits or the picnic tables. Ohhh wait, maybe they could charge a $5.00 fee to use the bathrooms. That would surely draw the public to their parks.

I think the park system and county are missing the fact the cachers are tourists and buy gas and eat food locally. Perhaps the local Chambers of Commerce could be informed about this and convinced that it is not in the county’s best interest to install the fee.
Exactly. We need to spread the word about places like the Chippewa Valley that are encouraging the placement of caches in order to attract visitors.
LOL! You guys!!!
Thanks for giving me a laugh.
I’m afraid we hijacked the thread a bit here. Anyone else want to complain about early spring squishiness?

Just remember you’re not getting older, you’re just getting wiser.. 😀
I’ll try to keep that in mind.

Edit: I just noticed that this is my 666th post AND my current find count is also 666.
😈
LOL! Actually, I thought you might do this.

Will this help??

or maybe this one
I didn’t get the first link to load. The second one worked somewhat ~ I was able to use it and get to a point where I could interpret the coords successfully with my limited knowledge of 1337. It’s very nice that there is a coord checker on the cache page.

You know I will be here often!
Will you be able to make some of the event or is it a complete no-go?
