You know this is already on my calender!

But I’m sad that Bec probably won’t be there.

Here’s an article that deals with GSAK and cachemate that many have found useful:

Well, besides us, the other WI people I know that are participating are Not So Lost Puppies and PharmTeam. Looking through the leader board I also see Hugh Foundit, kckennelcrew, The Cheeseheads and Tasmadudes.

Don’t worry too much about the final puzzle. I stressed about it on the first game, but was able to figure it out after a few minutes.

    That’s what I usually do.

    Hi litleflrt,
That date was used for the last game. Make sure you are looking at the new game which is called Hermit’s Quest for Gold (or something like that). The starting date for this one is today – which means you can only use caches found today or later. There are a few caches you can revisit instead of finding new, but again it must not be before today.

Actually, you can still complete the old pirate game, but the prizes for it are long gone.

I got my first puzzle piece this morning at 7:20 and I ranked 77th on the leader board. It’s nice to know that some people are more insane than I am.

    Hi WIsearcher!
Since we cache in the same part of the state, your caching adventures have showed up on my radar. I hope we can meet up sometime!

Thanks for mentioning some of the positive things people get out of a regional forum like this. It is definitely more personal! There are people here who I’ve not actually met yet, but I feel I know them because I’ve done one of their caches, or they’ve done one of mine, or I’ve seen their name in the logbooks, etc. So for me, this forum really provides an increased sense of community.

in reply to: My first muggle encounter #1761218

Same thing happened to me last summer. Fortunately, one of the things I was able to salvage from the site was the logbook. So I got things back together best as I could. The challenge was I had no idea where it was originally hidden! So again, I just did the best I could with rehiding it.

There are always small-minded people who enjoy destoying things. Mugglers like this are the same ones who break people’s lawn ornaments for giggles. I just don’t get it.

I had a geocoin held on to by a new cacher for 4 months, then was just let go very recently. Fortunately, the people who had it were communicative so I didn’t worry about it too much.

Because of this thread, I thought I should check the status of a few of my others that have been languishing in caches for a while. One is still there, the other is not. I emailed somebody about it, but if I don’t hear back, I will have to mark it as missing. At least it went 1700 miles first – better than some of my ordinary travel bugs.

If you can believe it, this one is going to be even more competitive as they are only giving away 75 coins: 1 to the first 25 finishers and the rest randomly to those who finish 26-500.

This one has been on our to-do list for so long! I would also recommend Klahn’s similar one: “Cache in the Barrelhead” as well.

We kinda liked the mini krod too.

And we were wondering – what exactly is a krod?

OK, here’s our top 5% list I’ve been maintianing for a while. It isn’t confined to one part of the state though. Now some of these caches are special to us because of a certain memory we have there – others may not experience the same thing when visiting. Just something to keep in mind – these lists can be rather subjective….
