Well, we added ourselves. But it looks like we completely covered greyhounder on the map cuz we have the same zip code (sorry Bec).

Very cool site tho – once I got it to completely load (@&#$*&$^ dang slow dial-up.)

FWIW, that’s Nurse Dave’s geocoin group. He buys 112 of any group/organization or event coin possible and distributes 3 to every member.

Tracks: you could try to put it out when you know there’s going to be some snow coming. Then don’t submit the listing for approval for a just a little while. They often take a day or two to get approved anyway.

I enjoy caching in the winter. It’s a refreshing change from the bugs and heat. Going the day after a big snowfall just adds to the challengs. And one has to remember to have good dry footwear and dress in layers.

You mentioned thinking about having a virtual. Virtual caches are very, very difficult to get approved on geocaching.com. They encourage you to use it instead as the first step of a multi-cache. Or, (purists avert your eyes!) you could list it on another cache listing service out there.

    Welcome to the addiction!

I like it rogue, but I think people are getting spoiled about thier icons and will want color.

I like Tie’s first one – the plain green state on a coin shape.

Have you got some coords for us yet?

in reply to: Do you remember…? #1759868

    Hmmmm….let’s see…..

    83rd: 2004 All-A-Glow event. I definitely remember that one!

227nd: a temp called “Sticky Fingers” at the 2005 campout.

I’ll admit to keeping a scrapbook of all our finds with pictures and logs. I’ve found that after 300 caches, just hearing a cache name is sometimes no longer enough to remember it. So I’m glad my scrapbook allows me to go back and revisit each experience again.

It’s probably not the one you’re thinking of, but there’s one in Eau Claire that I’ve been wanting to do:

    Mr. Larrabee’s Ghost

Seriously, a badger head would be cool.

Michigan used an outline of their state, which would be the easy choice.

I’ve asked that too, but haven’t got an answer yet. I’m sure getting a unique icon costs more, but it’s got to be worth it. People *love* those new coin icons and it makes the coins more valuable.

I will be doing several things with mine. One will be sent out into the world just like any other trackable geocoin, one will go into my collection, I may give a few as gifts, then a few will go on my trading list. Geocoin collecting and trading has become quite the sub-hobby these days.

My question: will we get our own unique icon on GC.com?
