Mine did the same thing, except at first the power button wouldn’t turn it off. I had to take out the batteries every time, but at least it was still useable. But then I couldn’t get it to turn on either. Garmin was great about it and sent me a new unit.

The one I had to place in a cache wound up being taken by Illinoisians (is that a word?) – – so that’s one gone…

We will be across the Long Lake at Benson’s Century Camping Resort. Grandma wanted hook-ups.

We are booked Wed thru Sun, so if anyone else is doing some early camping, let me know!

The last time I personally saw wzbt, he was deadheading flowers in a meadow.

I couldn’t think up a good story to share, so I’m just telling the truth.

Very classy – which is what I like. I’m glad you didn’t put color in it. It seems it doesn’t take much color before the coin starts to look a little cheezy. And even though we are in Wisconsin, I don’t want cheezy.

Well, I can’t answer pcfrog’s questions. But as far as the design goes, I can bring my geocoin collection to the picnic so everyone can see what other states and organizations have done. I have about 20 different coins and there is a lot of variety. Let me know if anyone wants to see them.

With 2 different Garmins, we have suddenly and unexpectantly found ourselves the proud owners of a Magellan GPS310. Will we EVER be able to figure it out????

in reply to: Missing TB’S & Geocoins #1749920

Anybody seen a rubber chicken originally placed at Pike Powder Hike?

I normally have a layed-back attitude about my TBs, but this one bugs me. I mean it disappeared out of its first cache! And I placed it there to commemorate our 200th find. Alot of people were at that cache that day due to the nearby event – did anyone see it??

in reply to: HOW FAR WILL YOU GO? #1749930

The mileage on my log for the Jeepers event is 42.8, but of course that is as the crow flies. So I would say….48 miles one way, then we walked about 2-3 car widths to Tie’s truck.

Bec – I believe you went to Nebraska with your parents. Please tell me it was for something other than a white jeep. BUT NOT ON THIS THREAD!!!

Off the top of my head….
    Michigan
    Utah
    Georgia
    North Carolina
    Alaska
    California
    Colorado
    Texas

It does seem unnecessary to reinvent the wheel when so many others have already been through this. I’m sure many of them would be happy to share their experiences with the different companies. Another good place to learn about people’s experiences with having geocoins produced is the GC.com travel bug forum. I know KVCoins has been recently discussed.
