Awesome job to an awesome math teacher, an awesome Packer fan and an awesome member of the geocaching community!!!
Yikes! We just drove down that road yesterday! (Yes, we were finishing up the Caching 1-2-3 series plus doing the other multi in the park – both highly recommended BTW.)
Awesome job Geotrippers!!! It’s nice when that GPSr can be used for something more important than finding a box in the woods.

Wow, 100 feet? That’s just incredible. Can you imagine what that must have felt like?
Death toll is up above 22,000 now. Totally unbelievable. Our thoughts are with them all.
I have family that lives just south of Eau Claire in a mostly agricultural area but not too far from the encroaching sprawl. Just a couple years ago, their neighborhood was having a real problem with one bear that moved in and was destroying the bird feeders and generally wreaking havoc. Eventually, the DNR had to trap it and relocate it to the north woods.
I do carry a small pepper spray canister when I head out to the woods, but I may consider upgrading to the more heavy-duty stuff mentioned in the article. Interesting how the bears are obviously repelled by the spray, but attracted to the residue.

Actually they DO have camo as well as green, black and silver. I post this link for informational purposes only which is not meant in any way to solicit commercial business in the behalf of GPSCity blah blah blah…
http://www.gpscity.com/gps/brados/048.3.3533202712110489158/GEOCAPSULECAM.htmlI also see brkster’s 10 camo micros above are valid as well (though actually they are listed as green at GSP City). So if nobody minds, I will add this too.
On the tenth day of Christmas, GPS City sent to me
10 camo micros
9 travel bug tags
8 mb of memory
7 days/week of service
6 AA batteries
5 days for shipping
4 magnestic cases
3 trilight titanium keychains
2 topo downloads
and 1 new GPSROK – if there are *RULES* we have to follow…
Actually, I’m sticking with my previous listing as you can get them from GPS City – with a slight modification:

I saw the winner being interviewed a couple weeks ago on one of the TV stations. She definately had the cute factor going for her. I think people like voting for the grandmotherly types…
Maybe next year!

Just last week, I happened upon Markwell’s website and found out about that APE cache too. I mentioned it to Bec as a possible trip we could take next year. Doesn’t sound nuts to me at all!

~ Sarah WilliamsWhen I first read this topic, I was going to say something about it taking away time from my housework, but then I realized I’ve always had excuses to avoid it. Geocaching is just the most recent one.
Let’s see….
I’ve never owned blaze orange anything before. Now I can’t be without it as I find us heading to wildlife refuges and other wild areas to cache this time of year.
Every place I go, I wonder if a cache could be placed there.
Yes, that milage thing is a factor. I now think nothing of spending half a day driving a couple counties over for a FTF or a handful of smilies.
And I have a new friend (hint: she is into dogs) and met lots of great people (you know who you are!).
