Yes, we were confused as to why this one hasn’t been attempted more. It seems like the classic geocache! If I had a favorite cache list, this one would be on it.
Just be sure to take the recommended way in to it. We did not at first and wound up having to turn around to go back and wasted a bunch of time. Oh well, just more exercize I guess…

“I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.”
~ Sarah WilliamsI always take at least one of my kids (ages 8 and 5) out with me when “hunting”. The best I’ve ever gotten out of a day (barring events) is 4 geocaches found. And that was with plenty of playtime in parks between.
The only original piece of advice that I can think to add to the list is to bring a camera. My kids love to look back and see themselves finding the caches.

~ Sarah WilliamsI have spent many days playing around Lake Wissota, but never actually camped there. It’s beautiful and my family would be tickled as they are all in Eau Claire. If they will allow some temp caches, it has my vote as well!

And we were impressed when you were at 800 in that article….
It’s funny – we were right behind ecorangers (and PharmTeam and wzbt03) all doing a few of the same caches in the Eau Claire area.
We snagged 2 caches on the holiday, one of them on the way to our second turkey dinner
I originally wanted us to be Fireflies – just cuz I love the little critters – but that name was taken. So we became LightningBugs. Boring, I know…
Congratulations! Do I smell a geocaching adventure brewing?
Congratulations…..hope to meet up with you on the trail sometime!

I would love to able to do something like that with my son’s cub scout den! The year’s schedule is all set up, but maybe a summertime activity….. I’ll give it some thought. I am open to suggestions for how to go about this.
Natloh2 – you get cacher of the month from me too!

We were pleased to be able to help one of your student’s TBs along that night. It was nice to meet you and thanks for all your contributions to the sport!
Awesome accomplishment! Hope to see you on the trails sometime !

Yes, I read about you resorting to your “ultra smart superhero powers” on this one! I’ll have to ask you sometime how you managed to find the second feather before the first.
Your post reminded me of an article in Today’s Cacher about Geo-hostels. I don’t know if this is what you were thinking of, but here are the links:
Today’s Cacher http://www.todayscacher.com/2004/sep/olla.asp
and the geo-hostel list which doesn’t have many listings yet http://www.livejournal.com/users/geo_hostel/
Thanks for all your kind words! We have made some great friends during this first 100 and hope to make lots more during the next!
Thanks also to everyone who provided us with these adventures by putting out caches and creating events to find!!! I had been saving the Goosey XXII multi and our 100th find was the perfect reason to complete it.
