As it turns out, I know one of the people shown to have picked up bugs from that cache. I wmailed him to see which one he took…still awaiting the reply. Also, my friend is going to the cache this weekend to see if he can find signs of life of your bug. I told him to grab it if it’s there. I’ll let you know when I hear anything.

Sounds like a fun way to get the kids to learn! And not a bad way to get some more TB’s out there! I’ll be watching for them.

I was just looking around at some of the events going on…there is an event happening soon where you don’t have to do anything but show up and eat a couple of meals and you get 4 finds out of the deal. Unless I’m reading the page wrong, there are no caches being hidden, there aren’t even any being searched out. All one has to do to claim 4 finds is show up, eat some food and find some travel bugs. So my question is this: how does this qualify as an event?

Some may not like this opinion but it does not diminish my right to have one.

Nicely put Jeff! I went to an event in Chicago a few months ago where we met at a restraunt, ate breakfast, signed a logbook and got some door prizes. They even had a cache event travel bug that we got to log (if we found it). There were no temporary hides. We were given a list of area caches to seek out. Some were old caches, some were new ones that had been released that morning. Since they were all permanent caches, what makes that any different than what the Commander was trying to set up here? I’m with you on your opinion!
When a group of cachers sign up to go to a specific location to pick up specific caches, on a specific date, at a specific time…hhmmmm…sounds an aweful lot like and event to me but then I’m not an admin…I’m just a watergirl.
In any case, I will be bringing a new travel bug that day. It will be called the “Unevent Event Bug”…not sure what it will be yet, but everyone that is there will get to pick it up and drop it at the first cache we go to. I’ll release it that morning. We may not get an event, but we’ll have a TB out of it!

Hey Rhonda…any info on this yet? I’ve been watching to make sure we didn’t miss the sign up, and well…did we miss the sign up?

Well I won’t be going near any chili cheese dogs, but I will be there for the team and the hunts! Looking forward to another funfilled day. Not sure yet, but BoyBug may be joining the team that day. See you Saturday.

You may want to check the cache page again…seems there aren’t any bugs in this cache. I will still have it checked, but it won’t be until the 15th. Let me know if the bug turns up…
