What’s blue and floats in Lake Michigan? Uhmmm…me! Well, not so much floating as running in, sitting down, running out! 3 words: OH MY GOSH!!!
I got stuck by a train so missed the masses in the Lake, but did get there in time to park, and do my thing before the wrist bands were all gone. (Actually, the guy who gave it to me said he was happy I went in…most people who get there late just watch then leave) I didn’t drive all that way to leave!
After I dried off I headed to the restraunt to meet the rest of those who went to the lake. I was sadly surprised to only find 5 people there. I really thought there would be more people. Oh well! Thanks to Folk Trakers for posting this event! I never would have known about it if not for them. And I’m very happy to hear that Mr Meister is one of the originals! Thanks also for advise on how to warm up…if only it were working!
Thanks also to Trudy & the Beast and Greyhounder for showing up to support those in it for the swim. I’m told that MR Anderson was there but got there late and left…well, hmmmm….
To anyone wondering…IT WAS A BLAST and if I’m still around next year I’m going back!
I left my suit in the trunk…I wonder if there are icicles on it…LOL!

Congrats on hitting another big one sir! It’s always fun travelling and walking the trails with you. Can’t say I’ll ever scale a mountain with you again, okay so maybe it was just a bluff…but…and yes, I’d do it agan in a heartbeat!!! Thanks for all you give us mister!

If only that were all they had to worry about in that region. Thanks for making me smile when thinking of the area…even if only for a moment.

in reply to: Puzzling Travel Bug Activity #1748143

People generally want their bugs to move around to as many caches as possible, and the idea is to put miles on them as well. As such, sometimes a holder will log a bug in and out so the owners know where the bugs are travelling, and so that the bugs log the miles for their journeys. Then when they leave them in a cache…well, you know.

Depending on what I find when I read a bug’s page, I either carry it with me to all the caches, logging as I go…or I leave it in the bus and only log when I drop it.

I own a bug that travels with me to all the caches I visit. I drop it into the caches, then pick it up with a note. The bug gets the miles and the cache log, but it doesn’t add to my personal bug total. If I am caching with a group of people who haven’t held the bug yet I give them a chance to grab it for a cache or two before I pick it back up and log for the day.

It’s done by different people for different reasons, but these are just some that come to mind.

Just one more thing I love about my Magellan! The mapsend software that I was given when I purchased my GPSR didn’t lead me astray. There was only one time when I had to refer to my WI Atlas & Gazetteer, but after locating the intersection there and going back to the mapsend program I saw that the point was there all along…I just missed it. I don’t know if it’s because I have a newer version or what.

    W 89 32.359

I just looked at my Wisconsin Atlas & Gazetteer…Cnty A and Hwy 28 are the same road at the point you’re looking for. At the intersection w/ School Dr the co-ords are:
    N 43 35.658
    W 088 03.023
    Hope that helps
