Oh that’s so cute! Actually, I have maps, but until recently didn’t know how to use them. Now I don’t know how I cached without them! You want to buy the best GPSR you can afford! The most features for the best buck! Nothing says you have to use them all right away. Start with the basics of your unit, then build up to the “Wow! I can do that?!” It’s been a lot of fun learning how to use what I own (which by the way is a Magellan SporTrak Map). The best thing you can do is hit an event, talk to everyone you can and play with as many different GPSR’s as you can get your hands on!!! Just walk right up, say, “Hi, I’m a newbie, may I see your GPSR?” Then stand back while we all attack you with our words of welcome and encouragement.

Cheesy! And, definitely not worth the time and effort we put in to the contest.

Okay, while I agree that it’s a cheesy thing to get, weren’t you at least a little happy about the game itself? It kind of put a new twist on the whole caching concept. And what fun it was to see all those people scouring an area just before the final co-ords were listed. Besides that…they didn’t really have to give anything to anyone…I don’t see where Garmin is doing any type of promotion like Magellan…just an opinion.

Way to go Alan! It’s been a pleasure walking some of those with you! I still have that same question for you though: “Under where?”

Another great option is to join us for an event. For now, just bring some suitable clothing for a day outdoors.

This link has the 5 events that are presently scheduled. Grab one of us and tell us you are new, we will be happy to give you an introduction to our sport!

Absolutely! Just post were you live, your groundspeak name so someone can look you up and contact you. You’ll be surprised how many people will jump up to help! It’s a very family friendly sport with a great line of supporters!

…I’ve come across some very sour ones as well. Too bad…

Hmmm…sounds pretty “sour” to me! I don’t know the history on this because I only see what’s here on the boards. But from where I sit I know one thing: It saddens me to think that someone is turning away from the WGA because they seem to have gotten their feelings hurt.
FROM WEBSTER’S II New Riverside Dictionary:
Discuss: v. 1. To talk over : speak about. 2. To consider or examine (a subject) through discourse.
Forum: n. 1. A public square of marketplace in ancient Rome. 2. A public meeting place of medium for open discussion. 3. A court of law:tribunal. 4. A public program involving panel discussion and audience participation.

As I see it we are pretty much following the definitions above each time we post a note here.

Of course opinions vary! Why would we want everyone to think the same things, feel the same things, believe the same things. Even laughter is a choice, one shouldn’t be told what to find funny. Part of the greatness of our Country is that we are allowed to HAVE and EXPRESS our own opinions. It’s called Freedom of Speech people. It’s a gift which we should appreciate and enjoy.

Your opinion is different than mine, so what. I don’t like what you said, so what. You have blue eyes and I don’t, so what. You’re taller than me, so what. I’m smarter than you, so what. So what! So What! SO WHAT!!! This all sounds so elementary school to me!

If you don’t like what you see, turn away. If you don’t like what you hear, turn away. Shouldn’t we keep these boards general so that the masses can keep up? If you have an issue with someone, take it to them personally. We all have email addresses, right? All someone has to do is type in our name on the Groundspeak site and they can contact whomever they want. (If anyone needs help with that feel free to post a note here and I will email you with instructions.)

So I have a point here? No, not really. I just had some thoughts and felt like utilizing my right as an American by voicing them. Okay, well there is a point in there somewhere. I could tell you what it is, but you may see it differently than I do anyhow.

Excuse me lady, but please keep me out of the middle of your games! I don’t think you should involve innocent…oh heck, I can’t even finish that statement with a straight face so…uhhmmmm, yes, I admit it! I was the mastermind behind this one! I was simply trying to help out the Jr. Cheesers! I would have gone on the search myself but I had to work and didn’t have time to go. But hey, watch this bug go!

The team cooked this area today! How could we not when the day started off so well! Lots of smiling faces, lots of vehicles, lots of laughter, lots of conversation, an Unevent Event Bug and could it be? Wait…that looks like…it is! Oh my gosh, it’s Kelly! And it’s only 8:00… …LOL!
Thanks to everyone who made it out for an Unevent-ful day! Now…don’t bug me!
A special thanks to Tie for coming out to see what the Team is all about!

Hmmm…could tomorrow be a day for some “firewater” Commander? Hee! Hee! See you in a few hours! I’ll be the one in the caching clothes , riding in someone else’s bus, driving someone else’s computer & pda, and offering water to the class.
