Have fun this weekend guys. Really wish I could have come along, even just to hang around in town.

Hey! I have that icon on one of my caches!! As a tongue in cheek kinda thing. No one seems to ever have noticed though.
Hmmm…. That might be a fitting attribute for certain times at that cache. (Which I still need to find.)
I think it’s rather appropriate……
An old prospector shuffled into the town of El Indio , Texas leading an old tired mule. The old man headed straight for the only saloon in town, to clear his parched throat. He walked up to the saloon and tied his old mule to the hitch rail. As he stood there, brushing some of the dust from his face and clothes, a young gunslinger stepped out of the saloon with a gun in one hand and a bottle of whiskey in the other.
The young gunslinger looked at the old man and laughed, saying, “Hey old man, have you ever danced?” The old man looked up at the gunslinger and said, “No, I never did dance… never really wanted to.”
A crowd had gathered as the gunslinger grinned and said, “Well, you old fool, you’re gonna’ dance now,” and started shooting at the old man’s feet. The old prospect or, not wanting to get a toe blown off, started hopping around like a flea on a hot skillet. Everybody was laughing, fit to be tied.
When his last bullet had been fired, the young gunslinger, still laughing, holstered his gun and turned around to go back into the saloon. The old man turned to his pack mule, pulled out a double-barreled shotgun, and cocked both hammers. The loud clicks carried clearly through the desert air.
The crowd stopped laughing immediately. The young gunslinger heard the sounds too, and he turned around very slowly. The silence was almost deafening. The crowd watched as the young gunman stared at the old timer and the large gaping holes of those twin barrels.
The barrels of the shotgun never wavered in the old man’s hands, as he quietly said, “Son, have you ever kissed a mule’s ass?”
The gunslinger swallowed hard and s aid, “No sir….. but… I’ve always wanted to.”
There are a few lessons for us all here:
Never be arrogant.
Don’t waste ammunition.
Whiskey makes you think you’re smarter than you are.
Always, always make sure you know who has the power.
Don’t mess with old men, they didn’t get old by being stupid.you could adopt it, just like a geocache
I’ve had a cemetery worker point me in the right direction
I’d imagine that most people would be middle of the road on this issue
that is weird……the only question I would have is: why?
Well, I don’t know how dad would handle strangers just dropping by, but he’s usually up for a caching trip.

With that being said when I saw this yesterday I just got home from a long day in Madison where my daughter was starting her 3rd round of chemo for her brain tumor and all this thread seemed so damn silly to me in the big scheme. TFTC or a 500 word essay doesn’t mean a dam hill of beans to the stuff that really matters in life.
Aint that the truth. And without totally stealing the thread, I wish the best for your daughter. Sadly, I see this kind of personal trauma related to health crisis every day at work, and know how dramatically it affects patients and their families. Trully wishing you and yours the best.

can’t think of a better reason to steal a thread.
Hemi, there’s never the right words to help with what your daughter, your family and you are going through, but I offer best wishes and prayers for all of you.
sometimes they’re just touchy. welcome to the world of colorado caching
are each of these attempts original pq’s? or 3 attempts on the same one?
let’s start with the obvious one first: did you check the day of the week?

air muggy….bugspray wearing off….blood draining…talking like….william shatner…..tftcthat’s hilarious
come to think of it………the more adversity on the trek out to the cache, the more creative I get…….not necessarily coherent, but more creative…..remembering a war with the mosquitos on a pinkish trail and a 4 part quest that defied all attempts at location……but that is the kind of thing I remember
