Well, as I’ve stated in previous postings, I won’t be able to attend the LCG event or the Spring Campout because of prior commitments. The LCG is because of prep for a gaming convention this spring. During the spring campout I’ll be performing for children at my church with puppets. As far as the chili event, WB Pancake event and fall picnic count me in. Yes, I know there is a lot that goes into planning and pulling off events, and I’ll put in anywhere I can without also getting in the way. When it comes down to it, I make a decent grunt and I can usually see what needs doing.
I wonder who that might be…
This might help
Considering that my writing style is “stream of consciousness,” I’m not sure you’d want articles that I might write; especially since I never know where my writing will take me. However, if you need content, I can usually supply something on any topic. I think I can give you something every month or 2. I might need to ask for topics, though.
If it’s something I feel strongly about, I will debate and vote my conscience. If it doesn’t go my way, that’s the way the vote fell. Just because a vote doesn’t go the way I want, doesn’t mean that the situation is closed. We can always come back to it. I do promise not to say “I told you so” if it turns out my idea would have worked better.
I would have to say: “Variety”
We have a fairly large group of people from all walks of life. Most of us step up as volunteers or go off and start our own projects that promote geocaching and the WGA.The first thing to remember is that we do seem suspicious. When it comes to law enforcement officers, there job is to question that which is outside the normal behaviors to make sure there is nothing wrong.
Most of the truly unfortunate experiences with LEO’s have been the result of someone else reporting strange behavior to the cops. The only way to stop that would be to stop placing caches in populated areas, and that’s a bad idea.
I’ve spread the word of geocaching to many a law enforcement officer. Some have been friends, others were cops that I ran into while caching. Once, the geocaching talk even got me out of a speeding ticket in a school zone.
“You remember LG?”
“Yeah, whatever happened to that guy?”I would continue our involvement at about the level we’re at. We have a definite presence with our booth, Geo 101, random volunteers and the pancake breakfast. As a mega event that is put on by a chamber of commerce, this is a great way to promote geocaching in Wisconsin and our organization. No one ever said we had to be in charge of everything, so I say let them go and help them out if they ask.

Wayne… I can pretty much assure you that nobody is looking that closely.
🙂Only if we’re hunting squirrels
Count me in
I don’t see this influencing me at all. It might increase membership, but our job would remain the same no matter who plays the game.
Yes, I think we should keep it.
To increase participation, I would think we would need to make it more visible. Something to draw your attention to it but not become obnoxious would be the goal. I would want to look at the usage stats before I said anything concrete. I do happen to like CNT’s idea though.
I have voted and nominated, but not as much as I probably should.
Yeah, the quality has stayed about the same, but the amount has increased. We happen to have some very responsible hiders in this state along with a successful LCG that helps out quite a bit.
