This year, my baby is 6 months old and we are not putting in her day care at all yet so I spend a lot more time changing diapers and and giving bottles. I get furloughed from dad duty to go caching only with negotation and planning. I really like caching, but it does not compare to the joy of holding a baby.

We were curious on how your caching stats might change post-baby. Not surprised that the baby won. Next summer will be much easier caching with Zumette. Our little guy won’t wait in the stroller while big brothers head into the woods. He gets the game/fun already and wants to see the swag.

We cache when the weather is nice and the chores can wait at our house. “Making memories”

Been snowing all morning here. It is pretty. From inside.

I hope you were near Pamida.

I just bought a used kelty kid carrier with a rain shield. I am hoping it will help block the nasty wind from my little ones face. I am thinking about adding velcro pockets so I can place hand warmers inside to help keep her warm. It is going interesting to see if I can keep my streak going.

    Nice idea!

We didn’t do much winter caching last year because it is harder to trudge through the snow carrying little kids. And babies noses freeze fast ‘’ We may try some this year though now that they are a little bigger. We really like this time of year though, no bugs, ticks and wearing jeans and tennis shoes is more practical when it is not 95 degrees out.

I love to read the logs to our caches. Please leave long exagg 😯 erated logs for me!!
There are many caches up here that we have found that are owned by a group that hid a couple hundred caches and have not logged in to GC.com for the last 2 years. The NM logs go untouched. I suppose instead of NM log, I should be logging a SBA when there is no response. I hadn’t thought of that. Thanks!

The Pamida in Ladysmith just closed in the last month.

We are up north but we are not hoping for any snow this weekend. Yuck! Wasn’t summer cold enough?

Cool thread… I’m enjoying reading the stories. 😀

When I first started (and even now, occasionally), people thought I was PharmTeam’s daughter (nope, no relation).

When I first saw your name that’s what I thought.

Most everyone already knows…I’m Lostby7 because I lost a bike race by 7 seconds and I like the tag because it reminds me to try a little harder.

As an aside I know I could have won that race if I hadn’t been run off the road on a down hill by a passing car….but then who would I be? I think I would have chosen some variation of “TheGate” as that was my online gaming name for many years.

Actually, I thought you were lost by 7 AM, like we sometimes are.

We too started with a different name that was an old college login, but once we figured out what we were doing and realized we were going to continue we searched for a better name. We tested lots of names out with the kids and came up with LostBoys5 which comes from usually feeling like we are lost, or convincing the kids we are when we aren’t. We are mostly boys, all except me, the mom. There are 5 of us. It is better than MooPigs, which is what the 3 year old wanted. No offense to any MooPigs out there, of course.

Nice Dave, but we prefer it when you cache wearing more than just your boots.

Maybe so, but I sweat less that way.

this made me think of the naked caching log on here GC1XFQ0

Ok, I maybe a bit prudish, but please, I don’t want to see naked caching photos on my cache page. Sheesh! Funny, but not cute!

I never realized that this was important, but after reading the information and finding the link…. copying and pasting it is was super easy and I put the link on all my pages.

in reply to: Reading the text on a cache page #1910836

We nearly always read the cache page. It took 3 tries to find our first cache because I did not completely read the page and it was not at the posted coordinates. Talk about a slow learner. I love reading the logs and the stories and the information on the cache locations. Now we feel a little helpless sometimes without the Palm to tell us what we need or want to know. We try to keep those batteries charged!
