Contact LDove and see what she did. I think it was about a year ago she changed names.

Interesting little debate you have going on there….I do hope though that everyone understands, the WGA has no part in cache approval whatsoever. Geocaching.com and it’s appointed approvers are solely responsible for all approvals. The approval process is strictly governed by the rules set by GC. Furthermore all decisions regarding cache approval by local reviewers are subject to appeal if you wish. Weather the Wisconsin approvers are members of the WGA or not is no more relevant than if they belong to a chess club.

I have to agree with Marc on this (darn it). Also the other issue you may run into is when a bus load of people suddenly walk over to a bush there tends to be a bit of wondering on the part of the locals. IMHO smaller groups are better for the permanence of the hides and the enjoyment of all involved; it’s not all that much fun for me to have someone hand me the log to sign after they found it 30 seconds before I even got on site.

Thanks. I think I’ll put an order in and start rockin’ and rollin’.

Most of the Colorado bugs are worked out, but there are still some there. A lot of the bugs have been fixed with the beta firmware 2.54.

The Oregon is going to be just like the Colorado but as stated it will have the touch screen.

Do you have one or know someone who does….I’d like to pick one up if it’s a decent debugged unit. I want it for its Cache page feature…I really don’t need a touchscreen unit.

I was just surfing the Garmin site an hour ago…I still think the Colorado is nifty but don’t know if the bugs are all out. I guess I’ll be waiting again.

Sadly no. We have a cabin reserved at Tilleda Falls Campground…in Tilleda (smack dab in the middle of nogeocacheville). I’m going to have to travel like an hour to get to any concentrated areas…East South or West. The good thing is that I get up early and if I’m by myself (which I will be for most of the caching) I will spend the prelight hour driving to my destinations…which at the moment look like Wausau and Shawno.

I’m thinking about taking a day to myself and going for a personal best (most found) day in Wausau. I’d love to attempt a 50+ day…then come back with the fam the next day to visit the long hikes and the more memorable caches as a family. I like to push myself and see where my limits are from time to time…just ask my (ZigZag Nuts team-mates)…next month I’m going to do the Madison “Urban Assault Ride.” Not much chance of winning that competition as I’m not familiar with the area but I’ll still give er’ Hell.

These sound great. I will plan to hit most or all of them when I visit.
    THANKS.

Let us know when you do decide to come…maybe we can plan a ticker-tape parade for you. 😉

Awe come on I’m only famous in my own (swelled) mind…

If my kids stay back at camp for some of the finds, look for flashlights around 4:30 am…that’s me.

Unique hides, great views; places that make me want to bring out the camera and snap a shot or two. I plan to bring my kids as well (10 and 12) so nothing too dangerous or with such a long walk where they will tire or get board (nothing further than .50 miles from the parking area…unless the cache is truly outstanding).

You are trying to get a hold of Ed Muzik right?

    Property Manager Ed Muzik
    Park Office 262-646-3025
    Email [email protected]
    Address W329N846 Hwy. C
    Delafield, WI 53018

I had no trouble with contacting him. I think I emailed him all the research I had done (about 90% complete draft copy of the cache page), and then he got back to me…but I like to live on the edge and go ahead and do the work before I get the permission…what do I have to lose…a little time?

If you want to PM me what you have so far I’d be glad to take a look and offer whatever help I can.

I’m planning a trip to Shawano in the next couple months. Can anyone recommend some really great caches within say 20 miles of Shawano (or up to 30 miles to the South)? I like rock and water features quite a bit and anything with a view is a good thing…

If you like rocks and Water, maybe you should alter your route to take you through the Wausau/ Rib Mountain area. 😀

I think you might be right about that…OK so what are the can’t miss caches near Rib Mountain…I’m gonna make a day trip there.

    yep what they said…

Radio program to get coordinates? Camp out or picnic? Did I miss something here?

Oops, that would be the picnic, not the campout. 😳 The cache being discussed, GC1476E, is a mystery/puzzle multicache which requires you do a bit of homework to get the coordinates for the first waypoint… people would have to do this before arriving at the picnic.

furfool really pays attention…I missed that picnic vs campout blerb.

If anyone sees an issue with this – like according to the geo-gods, I’m not allowed to do this, please let me know.

The only question is, are people going to remember to listen to the radio program to get the coordinates to waypoint 1 before coming to the campout? If they don’t do this they are sunk…

Radio program to get coordinates? Camp out or picnic? Did I miss something here?

The coords are for hoppe2finds cache which is located at Lapham Peak.
