Total 352994I have been using Netscape/Mozilla/Seamonkey for about 10 years now (lately however I have been trading off with IE). I just downloaded this new FireFox version…it is FAST. From a functionality stand IE has come a long way (following Mozilla’s lead), IE almost had me converted…but this new FireFox version so far has made me very happy.
Thanks for bringing this on the boards.

We are giving a Geocaching presentation next Wednesday evening and wanted to update some of our info… so how do we find out how many caches there are in the world, U.S. and WI?
There are 598486 active caches worldwide.
In the last 7 days, there have been 393121 new logs written by 56612 account holders. The GC main page tells the current cache count world wide.
Yep that really sucks! Perhaps a parks worker caught wind of the hide? But on the other hand I sure am glad your caches are generally too far for me to look for. Anything harder than 4 stars often has me seeing red.

Don’t get too discouraged. With all of the flooding that we have had over the last week or so, I am sure that there is a lot more on people’s minds than caching.
You got that right. I have found one cache so far this month…flooding and roof issues have kept me busy…I have been sitting at 1,699 for nearly two weeks and unless someone places a cache along my way to work I don’t see picking up that next milestone for some time yet.
I just think from time to time we need to give props to those who work so hard for us….and to remember that even though they are our friends they also wear the hat of responsibility which can be a tight fit at times. Cheers to you!
Awe…yer so cute.
Way to go Bec. You give hope to the rest of us.I thought for sure these would be under water….maybe you folks didn’t get as much rain as I did. When I did the Wildwood trail just a bit to the West of there, there were two “RIVER CROSSINGS” that I needed to go through which were each over 1 foot deep…and that was after mild rains.
(and I really only HAD to go through one of them…the other I could have gone around….but what fun is that?)Amazing feet!
No, really: Feet.
Ya gotta get to those caches somehow.WOW Seriously.

That is some serious time on the trails.

I have to amend that. Neither of us is SCUBA certified, so those are not available to us. Has that one been affected by these recent storms?
I don’t think so….it’s pretty heavy and under about 10 feet of water to start with. I’m not SCUBA certified either but I won’t let a little thing like that stop me. 😈

We kind of, sort of have a goal to get all the 5/5s in the state. We’ve got four of them. I think there’s maybe 10 or so?
The Broken Dam ( GCW9KE ) in Oconomowoc is a 5/5. I plan to do it for my 2,000th find. I better get going though unless I want to first break through the ice to find this underwater cache.

Anyone see the news clip from Lake Delton? Unbelieveable! Houses floating down the river. They said after the ground and, I think they said hwy A, was washed out, Lake Delton dropped by more than 6ft. Never seen anything like it. At least not in Wisconsin.
No more Tommy Bartlett ski show for awhile. Hard to waterski when there is no water.
We had to temporaly disable 7 of our caches due to the flooding.
Caches are dropping like flies (being disabled) around here….it seems like most of Waukesha is under water. I only had to disable two. Tapps has done, what, over a dozen …so far.
That is a BIG one!
WOW AMAZING!
WELL DONE!

😛Well I sure hope this is a nice weekend…I have roofing to do.
There is a local business that has their outside storage building under water….there are LITERALLY fishes swimming in the building; carp and blue gills. 😕
