Looks like about 52% hat wearers here…
One thing that I noticed right away (other than the number of great looking people) is that there is a huge number of hat wearers in the picture…
39% by my count are wearing hats (a bit less if you count the dog).
Congrats to Dan….
Look for me to be scouting Chocotown MaΓΒ±ana.

Does anyone do video editing and could recommend a cheap (read Free) video editing program? For all I know my Windows Vista might have a program for this but IΓ’β¬β’m not sure where to look or whether it would do the job.
I’ve never used it but Windows Vista has windows movie maker software pre-installed. If you use the search box in vistas start menu and search “movie maker” it should be the first in the list under programs.
So it does…thanks
Thanks Ken.
I’m not going to make the campout but I will re-watch your video and likely follow up with you on some questions I’ll no doubt run into.@ArcherDragoon wrote:

LB7 is bionic and does not require sleep.
Just because I got up at 4:30am on mothers day to go geocaching does not mean I do not require sleep…it just means I need very little…. π
(actually I get up for work every day between 3 and 4am so getting up early to geocache is no big deal.)
I hope you two can work out a trip to this trail. It was a nice ride.
If you got up at 4:30am to go caching…then technically…wouldn’t that mean you slept in???
πWell just a little bit…Any more than 6 hours of sleep a night is a waste anyway so I may as well spend the extra time geocaching.

YES! LB7 – a hard-core cacher going for the CHOCOLATE – yee ha! π Okay one more… Oh and let’s stop for strong caffeinated beverages on the way there so we can run, run, run on our sugar/caffeine high! π
With the promise of huge chocolate treats and prizes, I can’t believe marc_54140 isn’t all over this! π
A little bird told me that LDove was trying to assemble a women’s ringer team on the order of the Wisconsin super team that went down to Texas for Geo-Woodstock 06. But if Gary is crossing the gender barrier (sort of like a modern day Jackie Robinson) maybe it is safe for other guys? So I will join Team LDove if no one else wants to… or maybe I should create my own team? π
WOOT! I was wondering if you were going to step up…Now lets kick some coca butt.
My wife had already heard about this and wanted to do this as a family. Considering two of the 4 of us are allergic to chocolate and two of the 4 of us are under 13 (read s..l..o..w), I think I better sneak off on my own and not cache with the fam.
I’m not a huge fan of chocolate…unless it’s DARK CHOCOLATE then I’m a HUGE fan.

Myself and another cacher are looking for 2 more to join us for this event, even though it is not loggable – IT IS CHOCOLATE PEOPLE! π― The guy who answered the phone said the top prizes in chocolate and other stuff is valued at around $400!!! π Anybody want to join us? Need two more ASAP!
I’m in…if you’ll take me.
OK I got the article… π³ Suddenly I’m not sure how much of what I read I wish to believe. So many facts were wrong in this:

…A small log at the site is signed by the discoverer of the Geocache, who then subsequently replaces the container with a new one…
@Article wrote:
Participants must log onto earthcache.org and submit a photo and correctly answer all the questions in order to receive credit for the visit.
There are other inaccuracies as well. I guess I’m kinda bummed because I sent a full page of information detailing how geocaching works and how they are different from earthcaches….Here this is the information I sent him:…in retrospect I can see how he got the container replacement issue confused.

Hello Tim
Here is some information about the lime kiln Earthcache I plan to release shortly in Grafton. First I’d like to give you a little background on geocaching and Earthcaches:
An Earthcache is much like a geocache which you may have heard of. In geocaching a small container is hidden then the coordinates are listed on a web page for others to find using a handheld GPS receiver (which are accurate to about 20 feet). Once the container is found a small log book is signed as proof of the visit and the container is replaced.
Unlike a geocache, an Earthcache has no container and nothing is left at the site. The visit is strictly educational in nature. Earthcaches are simply locations which teach about geology and each listing must be approved by the Geological Society of America and other agencies prior to getting published.
People who visit geocaching.com would record the coordinates from the website, visit the park and answer some questions about the site as well as take a photo as proof of their visit. Once they send me answers to questions about the site and the photo, they could log the Earthcache as having ‘been found’ on geocaching.com.
Here are a few of the 12 Earthcaches I have set up in the state-

Here is a copy (Word doc) of the 99% complete Earthcache page:
Let me know what questions you may have and if this is to go to press, I’d be happy to do a quick fact check on the article for you….many times when articles get written about geocaching the reporters write about “Buried” containers and we try very hard for people to understand that no containers are buried and in this case there is no container at all.
Thanks for your interest in our little game and in particular, my Earthcache placement. I plan to list the cache this afternoon so it should show up on geocaching.com in a day or three.
I tried…but I guess in the end most people reading the article will not see the inaccuracies and the article will get across the general idea of what the Earthcache is about.
Only 10 teams allowed? No wonder we didn’t hear about it…

Well it looks like the article finally printed in the Ozaukee-Washington Daily News…unfortunately I do not have a copy. I saw a teaser online though…
Lime Kiln Park Γ’β¬ΛcachesΓ’β¬β’ eye of Geographical Society of America
Lime Kiln Park has gone from being just a local recreational hotspot to a "officially-designated" site for an increasingly popular outdoor game based on locating points of geographical significance...and an oops as they called the Geological Society the Geographical Society. Oh well I made sure that the reporter understood there was NO container…and that in Geocaching there is never a BURIED CONTAINER.
You may want to consult our WI approvers first as there might be issues with using the word “monopoly.” I’m still a bit fuzzy on the rules for using trademarked names / brands etc…
This thread might help:
http://wi-geocaching.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=7368I guess I would begin by seeing if you have the room to get the wps placed if the other cache owner were to remove his cache, then if you have enough room I’d ask the cache owner if he would consider opening up the spot.
To get more people to find your series I’d also consider placing one or two of the wps as loggable caches…there will be some disagreement on this point, but many cachers will pass up a 19 point multi for a single smile but add another cache or two and you will get more who will take the time to seek your series. Even so, there will always be someone who is looking for a challenging series without regard to the number of smiles. In the end you need to decide what you as the cache owner are willing to accept. I like most of my caches to be found as often as possible…unless the cache is in a sensitive area then I place harder (puzzle or multi) caches to get less finders. If you take great satisfaction from few but very happy finders then a single smile is that you should put out.
You could also seek the permission of the property owner for the wps to be located there as that would help you as well.
