    Hi Julie.

You did not mention why the spots you choose could not be used…was someone elses cache in the way? Were you too close to another cache of yours? If other peoples caches were in the way we could always just keep muggling them until they give up the spot…I mean we could ask them to move theirs a bit to accommodate you…you never know until you ask.

I love the idea and it sounds like fun….too fun to just abandon. There may be other locations large enough to place this series as well…

Ya it sure does make me wanna seek out caches in the cliffs 😯

I used to live fairly “close” to there…on S 83rd with McCarty park in my back yard. There are some nice easy caches there if you have the desire to visit a nice park.

Just because I got up at 4:30am on mothers day to go geocaching does not mean I do not require sleep…it just means I need very little…. 😈

(actually I get up for work every day between 3 and 4am so getting up early to geocache is no big deal.)

I hope you two can work out a trip to this trail. It was a nice ride.

I danced in the rain this morning to the tune of 10 found caches and one DNF (which I stood in the rain for 25 minutes looking for). Me a fair weather cacher…no way. That makes two weekends in the row I spent hours in the rain looking for tupperware in the woods with billion dollar satellites.

sorry, dont own a bike and live too far from work and i just had surgery that prevents me from participating.

oh well. will take my gas guzzling suv with just myself in it to work instead.

    please offset my bad ways…

    😛
    Happy to oblige ya.

…also too bad it is supposed to rain every day next week according to the extended outlook….but still I will ride in all 5 days.

You sure know how to make me feel bad that I’m sitting this event out… 🙁

nah…I’m all good. I got my new listing up today as well (now owned by Zemmy). GC1C096

I think this will add a bit of flexibility…but as with any new guideline there will be people who want to bend the rules a bit. Thanks in advance to the reviewers who will have to deal with all of us sneaky cachers…By the way I really want to place one at SHERPERS.

…I’m wondering, can I call a cache on their property (outside) “Get your Ammo-cans right here” ? …did I mention thanks in advance to the reviewers for having to deal with new guidelines?

…there is a commitment to round up local cachers, and have upwards of 20 new, PERMANENT caches placed in or around the park.

It may be a mute point if a picnic location is already in the works, but High Cliff kicked all our caches out a couple years back and while they have let a couple back in, I don’t think they’d let us put a bunch of perms in there.

OK I submitted a new EC yesterday for the Grafton Lime Kiln Park. It’s not yet listed but I did do an interview with a reporter about Earthcaches as he heard the placement request get approved at a village meeting….does anyone get the “gmtoday” (Greater Milwaukee Today)? I guess it is put out by the Freeman. The article is supposed to run Thursday. If so I’d love a copy of the paper…unless I look like a total boob that is, in which case it wasn’t me who was interviewed but some other guy who just sounds like me on the phone to strangers who call looking for story quotes.

…oh also, as soon as this lists on GC I will be adopting this one out to Zemmy! I have enough listings 😉

Well there is an Earthcache there…… 😛
…in fact that is where I found my very first Geocache…”Cliff Dweller.”
I love that park and would likely make it.

Just a little note on your planned attempt to complete the entire Chippewa River Trail Series in one day – GOOD LUCK.
I guess I’d have to say it can’t be done in one day without night caching on one end or the other.
If you don’t do’um all and just cherry pick along the way I still don’t believe you can get from Eau Claire to Durand.
I think you would be advised to do the series over the course of a weekend. The work Zuma! put into it deserves more than a park and grab approach to this great list of caches. The Trail itself is also a great experience.

Yep doing it one day would be daunting alright. Not sure if it would be possible or not…I’d sure love to give it a try though. When I did the Woodville trail I began at 5:30am and was done and back in my car by 10am. I could have done it faster (possibly dropping an hour off that time) were it not 35 degrees and raining; wet trails, “river crossings” and extra gear I had to drag along to keep me warm and dry really slowed me down.

As to this being a park and grab approach I disagree that an attempt of this nature would be disrespectful. I can say honestly that I recall vividly about 35 of the 37 I did in Woodville and had a great time taking the trail and caching with brute force. I look forward to giving Chippewa trail a shot…one day is for sure a daunting prospect though.

The red tires are a neat touch! We’re looking forward to hitting that trail sometime soon, too. Found a couple that have been there for some time when we were chasing down the zuma miles.

Thanks. I love this bike soooo much it’s 13 years old now but I wouldn’t replace it for anything. The trail was a blast….Here is a pic of a small water crossing I had to do:
